    The Future of the Internet...

I guess this si the section to put this in...

I think the internet will become the main for everything media. Newspapers will die out, because on the internet you can have so much more with just a story. With a newspaper you report the storys but with the net you put up the story then you have discussions, then you can have podcasts and blogs.Major newspaper companies are going to have to make the switch over to the internet or go broke.

With TV, I'm not sure. I think that there will still be TV but you can watch shows on the internet, like with the Colbert Report but with every show. And I think that there will be TV networks that are solely on the internet. But of coarse you could plug you computer into your TV and watch things from their. I don't know anything about Tivo though...

With Video Games...I'm afraid to say consoles will die out but I can never tell. I think you will download full size games right from the internet and play it on your comp. but then your comp. is plugged into the TV.

I think there will be a local internet just for things in your house. When you're driving in your car, not sure if you turned to oven off so you check right there. When it's cold out and you want to warm your car up, just go to your computer and turn it on. You get the picture right?

The internet is pretty much unlimited capabilities. And it will probably take over for the medium of media. Of coarse, everything I said here isn't going by '09 though. I meant this is going to happen in future decades, like 2030 or so.

I agree that newspapers will face a decline, in fact they are right now.  But I'm not certain that the printed word will totally disappear.  Even my kids, who are certainly a much more an electronic generation than me will still pick up a paper, or magazine to get information.  It's not that the info isn't out there electronically somewhere, as it certainly is, yet there is something more tangible about holding the page in your hand that makes it different.  I've also found that very often when there is an in-depth story that I am viewing online, I have a tendency to skim over it more.  The printed page lends itself, at least in my opinion, to that sort of focus.  And, when I have a "hard copy" of the paper, I never have to worry about it crashing, freezing up or dead batteries, either!  In any case, we are definitely facing changes in the coming times.
