AND I THINK FOR THE FIRST CLUE ON THE SECOND PAGE IS MARK TWAIN BUT IM NOT SURE, FOR THE SECOND CLUE, NO IDEA

 When you do the e-book, the page numbers are on the BOTTOM of the page & each sentence is a "line", not the lines on the page

thank you! but I cant figure out how to plug in the letters from the seduko into the sentence...

Once you fill in the soduku, the numbers will go into the spaces automatically for the book search.  Follow the link to the UV online library & gop to #11 NOT #10, open that, scrolll way down to Mark Twain Roughing It & then follow the instructions given.

 Chapter 1, page 20, paragraph 1, line 3, word 1

Line is sentence, not line on the page & the page numbers in the book go on the BOTTOM of the page

 

What am I doing wrong? I can't find the Chapter numbers at all.  I'm looking at Roughing It Lecture version 1 and 2.  Grrrrrr, frustrating.

You are looking at the wrong roughing it, they have the ebook also, that is what you want, not the lecture

I followed all the chapters and lines and what not only to be told I had the wrong answer.  Anyone else fighting with this one?  Now that I am finally looking at the right thing I thought it would be easier. 

yeah this is a toughy...a line means a sentence and the page numbers are at  the bottom of the page...and the paragraphs can be just a sentence like the one above the pic is #1, the one below it #2 and the next tabbed sentence is #3 etc... hope this helps...

o.k. mine says that the sudoku part is wrong and i checked it against redhatty's and the are the same does anyone have anything different?

the answer is "I appeared when he was born and I took him with me when I returned."
