Are you still trying to get into the chat?  Here some hints:

If you have downloaded mIrc, after you connect to the AccessIrc server, a box will appear with a list of available rooms, above the list is a white box, type #potc, then click join (don't forget the # symbol).

If you are using the webclient link (make sure to cut & paste into address bar...do not click), after you get the screen with a box asking you for a Nickname (make sure to put something in here, preferrably the nick you used here or at Pro's site) and you click the button to connect, you should be in the #potc room. 

If after connecting, either way, if you find yourself in the wrong room, look for the blinking cursor (on white line at bottom of box, and type /j #potc.  You should then be in the #potc room.
