Praise the Lord and pass the ammo. If you are not WELL supplied for some sort of quasi-military conflict between your family and friends and who knows who, then get your house in order and go to the next gun show in your area. It helps tremendously to have a plan of escape and action, (especially if you live in town), ahead of time. If you have a hankerin for commie guns, an SKS works well, but I prefer the ole' redneck ausault rifle, the Remington Woodsmaster 742. it is a 30-06 which takes care of the body armor issue, and is semi automatic with up to 20 rd removable clips available. It is relatively inexpensive as well.

Howdy, RG! Did you hear that Obama sent back the Churchill bust to England and replaced it with Lincoln?! No surprise there, huh?

    INTERESTING HISTORY:
"Winston Churchill was a supporter of eugenics .... In 1910, Churchill wrote to the Prime Minister Herbert Asquith to express his support for a Bill that proposed the introduction of compulsory sterilisation for the 'feeble-minded' in Britain. Two years later, Churchill attended the First International Eugenics Congress in London and even agreed to become its Vice-Chairman."

Great point, Wesley. I don't know much about Churchill. My post was not really anything on him, but more about the nauseating Obama-Lincoln fusion that most Americans just gush about. But, it does prompt an interesting question. Whose bust would I have in the White House if asked to make this choice? Hmm.

I'd have a bust of John Leland. And I would've sent Churchill's bust back, too, or at least demoted it to a lesser place than the Oval Office.

I really appreciate the news media's comparison of Obama and Lincoln, it is a GREAT match.

Great to see you defending the cause and the faith Bahnsen8. You have an understanding of theology and politics better than most folks I know. BTW, what is your blog address?

I do not know enough about John Leland to speak intelligently about why or why not. I would appreciate your views and reasons about him, though.

Wesley, Joe and I (the three amigos, I guess you could call us) enjoy contending together for truth. They have taught me much. Thanks for the encouraging words, RG. Here is my blog: http://steeplemedia.com/blogs/as_it_is_in_heaven/default.aspx -------"as safe in bed as on the battlefield"

To be honest, I don't know as much about him as I'd like. I'm looking for some books about him to add to my library. However, what I do know about him makes me like him a lot. He had the ear of some of our founders. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison consulted him concerning religious liberty. Jefferson found that he could feel the pulse of the people through Leland.

Check out his seminal work: "A Blow at the Root" [link].

Thanks, Joe, for pointing out John Leland.  I had never heard of him.  He is expressing many of my thoughts in a much better way.  I HIGHLY encourage the reading of his section titled "The Government of Christ: Christocracy."  It is at that link that Joe gave as well.

Wow, I am just amazed that I have never read or heard of this man, and he expresses my thoughts so clearly.  B8, please read and give your thoughts.

You're welcome. And if that "tickled your fancy" look into Isaac Backus, too. You'll be similarly impressed.
