     Thanks, John.

I found #6 required quick reactions, or good timing.

#5 requires looking into a mirror.

    Working on #4.

Not a problem. Let me know if you need anything else for the remaining levels.

So far, I'm missing the connection on #3, bigblacklake. Rolling over the equal sign changes the equation, but clicking anywhere else flashes the picture of the lake.

#3, clicking and rolling off the picture causes it to stay, but I'm still missing the connection.

And where do you go? To the beginning?

Individually, interesting challenges. As a whole, I don't quite get the authors' thinking.

Answer to puzzle #3 is below, highlight to read.  Don't highlight if you don't want the answer... if you want a clue, I'm not the right person to ask, because I'm not exactly sure why the solution is correct.

A previous comment said "think opposites"... the address for the next puzzle is /smallwhitelake.html

Re: Doritos The Quest - What's next?

So, does anyone know how to run their game?  I mean, the purpose of browndyedhotel puzzles is to eventually bring you to the Hotel, at which point you can read various things by clicking certain areas of the map, view a video displaying a physics engine to a game, post messages in a "chat room" of sorts, etc.  The overall purpose is to distribute a mod to the Half Life 2 game called Ether, which uses the Source Engine, but combines the feel of the Half Life 2 FPS with puzzle-solving through the use of a stick that alters gravitational properties of objects found in your environment... you can cause object to hover in mid-air, to lose all gravity, or return to normal gravity.  I guess somehow one has to use this interaction to progress through the environment.  A demo of this environment interaction can be seen at the Elevator; just press Play and watch the video for a brief demonstration.

My question is, how does one run a Half Life 2 mod?  I've heard of one called "gmod" before but I've never looked into it, and I have no idea what to do.  It might be fun to have another first-person based puzzle game; I know I for one enjoyed the hell out of Portal, even though it was dreadfully short.  Any suggestions?
