Re: Doritos The Quest - What's next?

Went to the Dew Tour in Cleveland but mostly hung out at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

No Mountain Dew Dorito Chips there.  I looked for them.

Once home I checked out some stats on the AST Dew Tour web site and found this.

Just something to pass your time.  A little trivia.

Re: Doritos The Quest - WINNERS

It's starting to look like my "submit the wrong answer strategy" hasn't really paid off yet.  The competition's probably over by now, and I never got a 'sorry, no uglies' card.  It'd be really great if Doritos would have sent a consolation card to all of us non-winners, instead of leaving us hanging around the mailbox for a few weeks, but I think, in a way, that made the whole thing a little more interesting.

I want to congratulate all of the finalists and the winner for being smart and doing a good job, and all of the other contestants likewise.  Now that I'm back to working Monday nights, I've got to be off, but I want everyone to know, if you want help or a worthy opponent in a future competition, the savvy can always find a way to contact me... and, if you're selling medication, chances to win the lottery in obscure countries, or otherwise advertising, leave me alone.

They can't say 'til after 8/15 (or maybe later). You have to wait and watch the "show", whatever that will be.....

Re: Doritos The Quest Discussion (www.doritosthequest.com)

I am so excited to let you all know that I received a Cryptex(R) last night.

This is truly an elegant collectors piece. It's blue and gold (my two fav colors) I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

My family hasn't stopped playing with it yet. The want to know how it works (inside). I haven't changed the code that it arrived with yet but will play with that after I stop admiring the piece.

Since I first posted finding the web site on this thread (page 75) I thought I would let you know about the purchase and let you know if it was worth it.

Def was worth every penny.  Great collectors piece that actually works.  Like I said very elegant.

Brown Dyed Hotel is fun....   I've made it through the first few puzzles in less than an hour.   Looks like I'm on 7, which is counting down to ??

Actually, I'm stuck on puzzle #7, "unvision."   I found the word and the clue, but now can't get anything else to happen.....  'nother hint, please!  (maybe put it under a spoiler window...)

    hi insightme,

been on the road home from columbus and just got back to surfing the forum.  on #7.  you say you found the word and the clue.  the clue should be something with a "/" in it. don't know how to post a spoiler in this forum. but did you play the golden jigsaw?  some times you just need to think where to cut and paste the end of a new addy.

Re: Doritos The Quest - What's next?

Spoiler (possibly?) below. Highlight to read.

What I've found for puzzle #6 is that if you click on the word "work," you receive the message "ether might actually work." I tried using /ether as the new address, and I got to a page that simply stated ".html." So, I tried using /ether.html as the new page address, at which point I got the message "You're ahead of your time."

I'm not exactly sure what this means, but the sound on puzzle #6 is driving me NUTS so I can't stand thinking about it any more at the moment.

For those of you stuck on #6, if you move the cursor to the right of the image...you'll notice that the cursor changes from an arrow to a Text Editor Cursor. If you need more, I've finished all the levels and can help on any of them.
