Jackman Named 'Sexiest Man Alive'...
Australian actor Hugh Jackman has been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2008.
The 40-year-old film star has played superhero Wolverine in the "X-Men" trilogy and won a Tony Award for his work in the stage musical "The Boy From Oz." He will next be seen opposite Nicole Kidman in the big-screen epic "Australia."

Cody Linley Kicked Off of DWTS...
Actor Cody Linley became the latest celebrity eliminated from the competition series Dancing with the Stars.
"Oh my gosh! Words cannot even explain the true, amazing, growing and learning journey I had on this show," the 18-year-old Hannah Montana co-star said upon learning his fate Tuesday night.

Angelina Jolie struggled as a new mum to twins - because breastfeeding them became a huge chore.
The actress admits she had to stop suckling newborns Knox and Vivienne after three months - because she was exhausted.

Stars Team Up for Obama Inauguration Event...
Hollywood heavyweights Susan Sarandon, Spike Lee and Anne Hathaway are among the long list of stars hosting a forthcoming event to celebrate President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration.
The Creative Coalition's Gala Inaugural Ball will see a legion of A-list attendees joining the five million people expected to attend the historic bash next year.
Organizers of the non-profit event are reportedly using their star supporters to solicit sponsorships of up to $150,000 from corporations and lobby firms, according to the New York Post.
The ball is scheduled for January 20 - the same evening Obama will be sworn into office.

FAA Releases Barker, DJ AM Plane Crash Audio...
The Federal Aviation Administration has released the air traffic control audio from the September plane crash involving Travis Barker and DJ AM.
Four people were killed, and the two recording artists were severely burned when the plane crashed September 19th.
In the audio you can hear the pilot asking the air traffic controller for clearance, then the audio skips to the ATC calmly instructing emergency responders to the scene.
Barker and DJ AM are recovering from their injuries. Barker has already returned to the recording studio.

Miley Cyrus is making music with her new boyfriend JustinGaston- the pair has been writing songs together, according to the star's dad Billy Ray.

Production on Patricia Arquette's hit TV drama Medium came to a halt on November 7 when comic Sacha Baron-Cohen invaded the set as his fashion reporter creation BRUNO.
Filming was temporarily shut down as Baron-Cohen, posing as an extra, was forcibly removed from the set after interrupting a tense courtroom scene.
An insider for the show tells EW.com, "No one had a clue it was Sacha playing Bruno. It's amazing he was able to infiltrate the set and pull this off."

Jolie Planning to 'Fade Away' from Acting...
LONDON, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie says she is looking to "fade away" from acting and stardom so she can devote her time to her children.
The Oscar-winning actress, who starred in Girl, Interrupted, A Mighty Heart and Changeling, has six children ages 7 and younger.
"I don't plan to keep acting very long. I'm ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day," Jolie told the BBC. "So, I'm not so worried that I want to keep this pace up and try to be something and be a celebrity and be a successful actress forever. ... It's great, but everything comes in seasons. I, hopefully, won't be needing to do that later in my life in any way."
She went on to say, "I don't think I'll ever say, 'I'm never ever going to work,' because maybe there's that interesting project where I feel creative."
Jolie added that she plans to start a new project in February but then "won't work again probably for another year."
"So, maybe it'll be once a year, then maybe it'll be once every three years," she told the BBC. "I like being home a lot these days. ... I have a lot of children. I have a big responsibility to make sure that they're growing right and that they have got us there for them."

REPORT: Prescription Drugs Found On Abdul 'Stalker'...
An overdose of prescription drugs has been blamed for the death of American Idol judge Paula Abdul's alleged stalker last week, according to new reports.
Paula Goodspeed, a failed former Idol contestant, was found dead in her car close to the star's home in Sherman Oaks, California on Tuesday.
Police have indicated she may have died from a drug overdose, a theory which has been fueled by new reports on website TMZ.com that "multiple prescription bottles" were found on her body.
Goodspeed is said to have become obsessed with Abdul after her brief audition for the show in 2006 and reportedly overdosed in the same area last year.
On Monday Abdul denied reports she has refused to return to her Los Angeles home since the tragic death because she fears Goodspeed is "haunting her house".
Abdul's spokesperson tells the New York Post, "She's been home since the incident happened. There's no issue with spirits. Paula is shocked and saddened by what transpired. Her heart and prayers go out to the Goodspeed family."

Stars Line up to Bid Farewell to TRL...
50 Cent, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce were among the artists who turned out for the final taping of the music video show TRL in New York.
Fall Out Boy, Kid Rock, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and Nelly also showed up for the MTV flagship show's 2,247th episode Sunday, The New York Times said. Hip-hop mogul Diddy, who is the show's most frequent guest, also dropped by for his 38th TRL taping.
The show reportedly had been canceled due to falling ratings, in part, because of the popularity of music and social networking Web sites.
"This is like a big high-school reunion in a way," the Times quoted Timberlake as telling former TRL host Carson Daly, who returned for the show's finale. "We kind of all grew up together."

Bond Takes Box Office...
Bond, James Bond, is No. 1 in U.S. movie theaters again with Quantum of Solace opening to huge audiences, Box Office Mojo said Sunday.
Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig in the latest incarnation of British secret agent 007, raked in an estimated $70.4 million in its opening weekend, knocking the animated Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa to No. 2 despite pulling in $36.13 million for a two-week total of $118.02 million.
Next up were Role Models at $11.71 million; High School Musical 3: Senior Year, $5.88 million; and Changeling, $4.25 million.
Filling out the Top 10 were Zack and Miri Make a Porno, $3.2 million; Soul Men, $2.43 million; The Secret Life of Bees, $2.4 million; Saw V, $1.79 million; and The Haunting of Molly Hartley, $1.65 million."

McCready Opens Up About Clemens Affair...
Singer Mindy McCready, who was released from jail two weeks ago, says she isn't proud of an affair she had with baseball great Roger Clemens.
McCready, 32, has battled addiction to prescription drugs and recently spent time behind bars for violating her probation following a drug arrest.
"There aren't words to describe how painful it's been. So painful, I haven't wanted to live," she told TV's "Inside Edition." "I've lived recklessly. I've made a lot of mistakes."

Today, at 1:45 PM EST, my laptop gave a Fatal Hardware Error. The paramedics deemed it inoperable and that there was "nothing we can do."

American Idol is set to donate $64 million to charity after hosting a TV fundraiser.
Celebrities including Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon and Miley Cyrus were among the guests at the Idol Gives Back special in April.
Fergie , Mariah Carey and Carrie Underwood performed as part of the charity drive, and Britney Spears was so moved by the plight that she donated $25,000.
The final tally of the star-studded extravaganza will go to help six U.S. and international charities - and the show's creator couldn't be happier.

Woman's Body Found Outside Paula Abdul's Home...

A woman was found dead in her car outside Paula Abdul's home last night, TMZ.com reports.
A source told the Web site that police said the woman - a formal Idol contestant - may have been stalking the American Idol judge, as they have had to deal with her "numerous times."
Paula Goodspeed was a contestant on Season 5 of the show in 2006, where she expressed her love for Paula Abdul in an almost 4-minute long feature.
According to TMZ, Goodspeed may have died from a drug overdose.

Breaking News Fan Found Dead Outside Paula Abdul's House

A woman described as being obsessed with Paula Abdul has been found dead after apparently killing herself in a car parked outside the American Idol judge's hillside home.

"I am deeply shocked and saddened by what transpired yesterday," Abdul told E! News. "My heart and prayers go out to her family."

Los Angeles police officers found the body around 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 3800 block of Beverly Ridge Drive in Sherman Oaks. The cause of death appears to be a suicide, and the body has been transported to the county coroner for autopsy.

Authorities have not released the name of the 30-year-old woman, but say she seemed to be fixated on the "Forever Your Girl" singer.

"She has a history of mental illness," said Capt. Ross Bonfiglio of the Ventura County Sheriff's Dept.

Family members in Thousand Oaks, Calif., reported the woman missing Tuesday around 3 p.m., said Bonfiglio.

The family member who notified authorities said the woman hadn't been seen since 11 p.m. Monday night. The family member also expressed concern that the woman might possibly overdose.

Ventura County officials, aware of the woman's interest in Abdul, then informed their counterparts in Los Angeles.

While she had no prior arrests, her family did ask the LAPD and L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. to locate her after she went missing in January. Bonfiglio says the family was concerned at the time that she might try to harm herself.

While the victim has not yet been identified, the vehicle in which the body was found is registered to Paula Goodspeed, a fifth-season Idol auditioner.

LOS ANGELES, November 12 (UPI) -- Melissa Etheridge, Tim McGraw, Gavin Rossdale and Jamie Foxx have agreed to perform during Faith Hill's upcoming holiday special, CBS said.
"The 10th annual A Home for the Holidays with Faith Hill," a program celebrating the joys of adoption, is to air December 23 on the network.
Kristin Chenoweth, Patricia Heaton, Rene Russo, Martin Short and other celebrities have signed on to present inspirational stories about foster care adoption.
"The musical performances frame several pre-taped story segments which are presented by celebrities who either have their own adoption experiences or are involved with children's issues," CBS said in a news release. "The stories highlight many exceptional American children and families involved in this rewarding process."
To commemorate the annual program's 10th anniversary, foster children featured in past years will be taken back to the show, joined by their adoptive families, the network said.

The Story of the Sack Lunch.......

I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought.

Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. 'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to me. 'Great Lakes Air Base. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Iraq.’

After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached Chicago, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time.

As I reached for my wallet, I overheard soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to Chicago.

His friend agreed.

I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq; it's almost like you are doing it for him.'

Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?' 'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class.

'This is your thanks.'

After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this. 'He handed me twenty-five dollars.

Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand, and said, 'I want to shake your hand.'

Quickly unfastening my seat belt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers.

Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm.

When we landed in Chicago I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars!

Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. 'It will take you some time to reach the base. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.'

Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers. As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so little.

“A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America 'for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.”

Dark Knight and Indiana Jones lead People's Choice Award Nominations...

The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Iron Man lead the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards after claiming this year's top nominations.
The three films will battle it out for favorite overall movie and favorite action movie at the viewer-voted awards, with honors being presented in over 40 categories.
Blockbuster stars Robert Downey Jr., Harrison Ford and Will Smith are vying for the title of favorite male movie star at the event, while Christian Bale, Brad Pitt and Mark Wahlberg are paired against each other for favorite leading man.
Bale, Downey Jr. and Smith will also compete for favorite male action star.
Meanwhile the nominees for favorite female movie star include Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley and Reese Witherspoon.
Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson and Queen Latifah will compete for the favorite leading lady, while Cate Blanchett, Hathaway and Jolie will vie for the favorite female action star honor.
Comedic actress Queen Latifah is set to host the event, airing live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 7.

Britney Spears' Son 'Doing Fine'...
The Two-year-old son of pop star Britney Spears has been hospitalized after getting sick during a trip to Louisiana, a source told Entertainment Tonight.
Jayden James was taken to the emergency room Sunday after he fell ill during a visit to his mother's family home in Kentwood. ET didn't offer details about the nature of the child's illness or his condition, however, a source told People magazine that the two-year-old was taken to the hospital after "a terrible allergic reaction. He had hives, was itchy and irritable." The source also told the magazine that Britney Spears and her mother stayed at the hospital overnight with Jayden.
Britain's Daily Mail said doctors were not immediately able to determine the problem and kept Jayden overnight for observation.

Hudson Family Slay Suspect to Stay in Jail...
The Illinois Prisoner Review Board Monday ruled that a person of interest in the triple homicide of Jennifer Hudson's family must stay behind bars.
William Balfour, the estranged husband of the singer-actress's sister Julia, has been held since October 24, the day Hudson's mother and brother were found shot to death in their Chicago home. The body of Hudson's slain 7-year-old nephew was recovered in a parked SUV several days later.
Balfour hasn't been charged in connection with the killings but has been held on an alleged parole violation since shortly after they occurred.

Kidman, Jackman to be CMA Presenters...

NASHVILLE, November 10 (UPI) -- Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, the stars of the upcoming film "Australia," have agreed to present a prize on The 42nd annual CMA Awards in Nashville.
"We are thrilled to have two of Hollywood's biggest stars join us for 'Country Music's Biggest Night,'" Tammy Genovese, the Country Music Association's chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We know our fans and viewers will be excited to see Nicole and Hugh on the 'Awards.'"
The CMAs show is to air live from the Sommet Center Wednesday on the ABC Television Network.

First November Dish Writing Contest!!

Hey all! I'm excited that it's election day and all but lets start our first Writing Month contest today!!! Here's the basics:

Ever hear of a Round Robin writing? Well, we're doing one! If you havent, What I'm going to do is post a sentence today. You will write the next line of the story. Then someone else writes the next line. And so forth.

Your line must be completely original and ties itself to the story! We are shooting for at least 1000 words to this story at the end. (Which if everyone has a 10 word sentence, thats 100 comments) There is no minimum to how long your post has to be as long as it is a complete sentence with a Subject and a Verb.

You cannot write more than one line in a row. If you do, the second line will be deleted (This gives everyone a fair chance)

How to win? After I post the final story, I will put every line in a hat and draw the winner. If you want, we could do this ON CAMERA during the next Fit Show. That's totally up to you all

This contest will end: The contest will end on Tuesday, November 11th, or when we reach 1000 words. (So if we reach 1000 words before November 11th, the contest will not end)

Madagascar Sequel Tops U.S. Box Office...
Oh before I forget, I saw Saw V over the weekend, great movie!!
All-star animated sequel Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa has stopped the singing and dancing of High School Musical 3: Senior Year at the top of the U.S. box office.
The DreamWorks movie, starring Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith, Chris Rock and David Schwimmer, among others, scored a whopping $63.5 million in its opening week on release, according to studio estimates.
The family film pulled in more cash than the rest of the top four put together.
Comedy Role Models came in second, High School Musical 3 slipped to third and Clint Eastwood's new movie Changeling debuted at four.

British actress Sienna Miller has confirmed her split from married oil heir and actor Balthazar Getty - criticizing the media for making relationships in the spotlight too difficult.

The actress who voiced the character of Lucy in cartoon Peanuts is facing jail after a Los Angeles judge found her guilty of harassment.
Pamelyn Ferdin, 49, appeared in a Santa Monica, California court on Thursday, where she was convicted for protesting against animal researchers at UCLA.
A judge ruled her actions violated an injunction taken out against her by handing out fliers on the university's campus containing full contact details for research scientists.
She could now be sentenced to up to five days behind bars, reports website TMZ.com.
Ferdin also appeared on a variety of TV shows in the 1970s, including Star Trek and The Odd Couple.

Parker Urges Fans Not to Get Carried Away by Cattrall's Sex Talk...
Sarah Jessica Parker has dismissed Sex & the City movie sequel reports a day after co-star Kim Cattrall confirmed them on British TV.
In an interview on The Paul O'Grady Show on Tuesday, Cattrall told former Spice Girl Melanie Brown she and her castmates will shoot the sequel to Sex & The City: The Movie next summer.

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams' on-off romance is off again, just four months after they sealed their reunion with a public kiss.

Cowell Explains Love Split...
American Idol judge Simon Cowell has explained the reason for his recent split with girlfriend Terri Seymour - he is convinced celebrity marriages never work.|
The couple dated for more than six years, but British model Seymour ended the relationship two months ago over Cowell's refusal to settle down and start a family.

The elections are finally over! No more political ads but I am finding a lot of very funny political videos that I will be sharing with you either tomorrow or Friday. Whenever I get the post done.

I give this country credit for what we did yesterday. With the election of Obama, we as a country have shown the rest of the world what America truly means. A quote... "The fact that a man like Barak Obama could attain the Presidency is nothing short of....American." I applaud Obama and his campaign. He did something that just a decade ago was said to be impossible.

Oprah Thrilled Obama Won...
Oprah Winfrey says she's thrilled Democrat Barack Obama has been voted the next President of the United States.
Obama, a candidate for whom Winfrey had tirelessly stumped during the campaign, beat Republican Sen. John McCain in Tuesday's election.
"It feels like hope won," Winfrey told the BBC from Chicago where People.com said she helped Obama celebrate his victory, along with Brad Pitt and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
"It feels like there's a shift in consciousness. It feels like something really big and bold has happened here, like nothing ever in our lifetimes did we expect this to happen."

Author Michael Crichton Dead at 66...
Blockbuster novelist, medical doctor and ER creator Michael Crichton has died at the age of 66 after a battle with cancer, his family said.
Among the books he penned are The Andromeda Strain, Jurassic Park, Congo and Next, all of which have been adapted for television or as films.
Usmagazine.com said the Chicago-born author's family described his death as unexpected.
"While the world knew him as a great storyteller that challenged our preconceived notions about the world around us -- and entertained us all while doing so -- his wife Sherri, daughter Taylor, family and friends knew Michael Crichton as a devoted husband, loving father and generous friend who inspired each of us to strive to see the wonders of our world through new eyes," his family told Entertainment Tonight. "He did this with a wry sense of humor that those who were privileged to know him personally will never forget."

I'm on her side... Country star Carrie Underwood has slammed fellow celebrities who use their public profile to rally support for politicians.
The former American Idol contestant doesn't agree with well-known people who make their political affiliations known to the public - insisting voters' decisions shouldn't be swayed by the power of celebrity.
In the run up to Tuesday's presidential elections, Hollywood stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Lindsay Lohan, Matt Damon, Bruce Springsteen, and Sean 'Diddy' Combs all threw their support behind America's new president, Barack Obama.
Most notably, powerful TV titan Oprah Winfrey backed the new American leader on his campaign for the White House, despite the fact she had never publicly backed a presidential candidate in her 25 years on TV.

Jessica Simpson's hairdresser pal is healing well after he was injured during a paparazzi scrum at the weekend.
Celebrity stylist Ken Paves needed nine stitches in his head after he was cut trying to protect the singer from photographers as they left Los Angeles' Madeo restaurant on Saturday.
Paves insists he is recovering but appeals to photographers to take more care, so the accident isn't repeated.

Ritchie Hires Leading Lawyer to Fight Madonna Over Kids...
Director Guy Ritchie has hired the services of the U.K.'s leading international divorce lawyer to help keep his children with pop superstar Madonna in Britain following their split.
The estranged couple is currently working to thrash out a divorce deal before the case goes before a judge, after confirming their marriage was over last month.
And according to British reports, the filmmaker has recruited Stephen Cobb QC, a specialist in international divorce cases in which the residence of the children is in dispute, to fight his case.
Madonna is rumored to be planning to return to her native New York with their eight-year-old son Rocco, adopted tot David Banda, three, and her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes, from a previous relationship.
But, under U.K. law, Madonna will not be able to take the kids to the U.S. to live with her permanently, unless Ritchie gives her his permission or a judge grants her leave to take the children abroad.
A source says, "Stephen Cobb is acting for Guy Ritchie. There are only a handful of barristers who specialize in leave-to-remove applications and he's the best in that area."

Jessica Simpson: Nick Wasn't the One...
In the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, she says that while ex-husband Nick Lachey will "always be a part of her life," he wasn't her soul mate.
"Nick will always be a part of my life," she tells the mag. "But next time, I'm marrying the right one."
Though she doesn't say definitively whether or not she will marry beau Tony Romo, she does admit, "I think any person who I'm gonna date for longer than six months, I definitely am investing in something long-term. If I get married again, then it will be the last time."

Robbins Gets Into Shouting Match at Polling Place...
Police were called to a New York polling place Tuesday after film actor Tim Robbins allegedly got into a verbal confrontation with an election worker, TMZ said.
Robbins apparently became upset when the people working at the polling place at which he has cast his ballots for years said his name wasn't on the register, the entertainment news Web site said.
The star of City of Ember, Mystic River, The Shawshank Redemption and Bull Durham, who is a vocal Democrat, reportedly was instructed to complete a provisional ballot, but he said he didn't want to do that, leading to an argument with a poll worker.
TMZ said Robbins accused the poll worker of attempting to intimidate him so he wouldn't vote. He then went downtown to the New York City Board of Elections to get proof he was registered to vote.
No criminal charges were filed in the incident.

Cyrus' Show Pulled Over Diabetes Controversy...
A controversial episode of teen star Miley Cyrus' hit show Hannah Montana has been canceled after Disney bosses were flooded with complaints from concerned parents.
The episode, titled "No Sugar, Sugar," sees Cyrus' character Hannah dealing with her pal's diagnosis with diabetes.
The show was set to air on Sunday, but was yanked after it was previewed by parents in an on-demand version.

A friend of mine sent this to me that is just PERFECT for today's election, thanks again!!!

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.'

'No problem, just let me in,' says the man.

'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.'

'Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the senator.

'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.'

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly & nice guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

'Now it's time to visit heaven.'

So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.'

The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.'

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. 'I don't understand,' stammers the senator. 'Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable.
What happened?'

The devil looks at him, smiles and says, 'Yesterday we were campaigning.. .

Today you voted.'
