America Bailout
30 September 08 10:34 AM | Zach | 2 comment(s)
My good buddy Shawndiaz showed me this, I couldn't resist posting it. Keep in mind 2 things... One, Shawn didn't write it and Two, the math is wrong... Other than that its a good plan THIS IS CALLED "FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY'... OKAY YOU ECONOMISTS, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS PROPOSAL!!! I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle...

Attention about this... If you see text between lines like below: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That text can totally, 100% without a doubt be trusted! This whole post is like that. Today is what I will call the Post-a-thon. You will see posts every hour, on the hour. Trust them if you may. Believe me, not everything you read in the Dish later is true! We will discuss prizes amoungst the "winner" if there even is one. Please comment in each post about if you think it is real or fake. Express what led you to believe that. I'd say that for sure, half of the posts today will be real. Oh, and there will be no full blown "Dish" post, it will be dispersed into smaller posts.

Toy Recall
04 September 07 01:00 PM | Zach | with no comments
Another toy recall, this one is courtesy of Reuters.com... Toys 'R' Us to Recall 27,000 Coloring Cases... Toys "R" Us Inc is recalling about 27,000 Imaginarium wooden coloring cases that were made in China because they violate federal lead paint standards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which announced the recall on Thursday, said the 213-piece coloring cases were sold at the toy retailer's stores and on its Web site from October 2006 through August 2007 for about $20. The printed ink on the outer packaging of the wood case contains lead, and some of the black watercolor paint contains excessive levels of lead, the agency said. It marks the latest in a string of recalls of Chinese-made products due to lead paint, including Mattel Inc's recent recall of Pixar Sarge die-cast toy cars, and Sesame Street and Dora the Explorer toys. Lead paint has been linked to health problems in children, including brain damage. The spate of recalls has sparked concern...

I read over the weekend about "Beard Championships" which I laughed at. I cant even explain it... here's the story Hundreds of hirsute chaps made a pilgrimage Brighton for the World Beard and Moustache Championships. Over 250 fuzzy faced men from around the world competed in various categories. The moustache groups include the slender "Dali" and the big and bushy "Hungarian". While the partial beard categories range from the long and thin "Chinese" to the full and fluffy "Imperial." Germany triumphed with nine trophies in the annual awards.

Jeff Foxworthy on Ohio
31 August 07 10:10 AM | Zach | 2 comment(s)
Supposidly, Jeff Foxworthy wrote the following about Ohio. It is probaby the most accurate jokes I've ever read. All I have to say is "Go Bucks!" You might be from Southern Ohio (pronounced ah-hi-uh), or Northern Ohio (pronounced O-hi-uh) if you understand the term "GO BUCKS!" Everything you wear is red. Your house is gray and red and so is your car. You think all Pro football teams are supposed to wear orange You know all the 4 seasons: winter, still winter, almost Winter, and swelter while waiting in construction. You live less than 30 miles from some college or university. You know what a buckeye really is, and have a recipe for Candy ones. "Toward the lake" means "north" and "toward the river" means "south." You know if other Ohioans are from southern or northern Ohio as soon as they open their mouths. You can spell words like Cuyahoga, Olentangy, Bellefontaine, Tuscarawas, Wapakoneta and you know which letter is doubled...

Microsoft vs. GM
24 August 07 05:11 PM | Zach | 3 comment(s)
Sorry I havent been posting much this week, I have been baby sitting my cousins for a few days, will be on board next week! Plus, I am working on getting SFC2 ready!! Here is a Microsoft joke to get you by... At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving twenty-five dollar cars that got 1000 mi/gal." Recently General Motors addressed this comment by releasing the statement: "Yes, but would you want your car to crash twice a day?" Not only that, but.... Every time they repainted the lines on the road you would have to buy a new car. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on. Occasionally, executing a maneuver would cause your car to stop and fail and you would have to re-install the engine. For some strange reason, you would accept...

20 July 07 05:25 PM | Zach | 2 comment(s)
After getting back from South Carolina and after getting better after a stomach flu, I am finally back to my good friends here! Now, I have TONS of pictures to give you but that can wait a few days I think. Today is a really big day to boot! In just a few short hours, I will be getting in line to receive my Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book! (HPDH) I re-read the series and just finished yesterday (read the books over a course of a month). I am planning on napping for a bit soon so I can stay up and read the new book LATE tonight. I will not be posting spoilers of any sort on this site as to the contents of the book. I wont tell you anything about it, even if you paid me. I will however give a very discreet review of the book after I finish it which should be sometime early this week...end. I also have caught up on Big Brother 8 courtesy of Innertube. I actually just finished watching episode 7 and am very happy that Evil (or Evel, not sure how he is spelling it... its "Evel"...

Bald Eagle taken off of the Endangered Species List
04 July 07 04:00 PM | Zach | with no comments
I just read this on CNN.com and thought I would let you know our nations bird is finally off of the endangered species list. I'm wondering if this means that the US will get off of the "danger" list as well. Here is the CNN.com story brought to you by none other than CNN... var clickExpire = "-1"; (CNN) -- The bald eagle, America's national symbol, is flying high after spending three decades in recovery. On Thursday, the government took the eagle off the Endangered Species Act's "threatened" list. "The eagle has returned," Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne told government officials, wildlife conservationists and journalists at a ceremony held on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington. "Today is an opportunity to celebrate and draw inspiration," Kempthorne added. "We do have 1,300 species that have been listed and our recovery rate is about 1 percent. I would like to see us have more days like this when...
