Ladies Eighties Night!

Get ready for Lady’s 80s night! The top 8 girls will be belting it out to the songs of the 80s just as the guys did last night. Will they do as well as the men? Or will they fall to defeat? This is American Idol!! Also, just like last night, I will rate them 1 through 8 but I won’t be listing the numbers next week during the top 12 performances. I have decided that this season I will watch the show and judge without the imput of the judges. I mute them while I type my results. Then I replayed the results during breaks and said who I agreed with. Honestly!! These performances are in order so if you are still up until 12:00 PM EST tonight, you can still call in! Remember the number is 1-866-IDOLS(43657)-(their two digits eg. 01 or 12) OR if you have a AT&T Wireless phone, you can text the word VOTE to 57(their two digits). Well, we made it! Today we meet the first half of the top 24! Man I wish I could have some popcorn…. Lol Its going to be good! Get prepared!! Below you will find my rating about each Idol singer. Welcome to Season 7 of American Idol!!!!!!!!!! We know this about people on American Idol. They can be anyone, they can have any profession, they can come from anywhere but they all have the same dream! For some it will be the first step, for others its the final run! It can be anyone we see in the crowds but only 1 will be crowned the next AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first stop of the American Idol this season is Philadelphia. Contestant 1 This guy has lost about 200 pounds and he is ready to audition. "I dont feel like I'm held back." Singing: Maroon 5, Sunday Mornings What a way to start the season! I really like it so far. Joey makes it through the first round!! ------COMMERCIAL BREAK---------- Contestant 2. This guy has big teeth and a wide gap in em... He enjoyes love songs... This year I would like to participate in the "Predict the Idol" game and hope that you will join in!! You can play on www.idolelimination.com . All you need to do to sign up is purchace a Nestle Crunch bar and get the code inside the packaging. Oh yeah, the prize! You can win up to a million dollars!! Good luck!! I also want to hold the "Predict the Idol" contest here!! So, once we hit top 20, I will setup a forum in the Dish for you to post your bracket. Every week, if one person guesses correctly, they will receive a Prize pick!! I will also be doing the same thing for Big Brother but we dont need to worry about that yet

THIS JUST IN - SEASON PREMIERE A TWO-NIGHT EVENT! After waiting with bated breath, we now have the highly anticipated season premiere info! We'll get things rolling with a two-night, four-hour event, Tuesday and Wednesday, January 15th and 16th, at 8/7c, only on FOX! Make sure to watch both nights for a glimpse of the season seven hopefuls (and hopeless!), Ryan Seacrest, and the AI judges you've surely missed! So get your Tivo's set for that night now incase you forget. I dont have a Tivo so you guys will have to remind me. Oh who am I kidding? I'll be reminding you all when it comes around. Oh, and has anyone tried out for AI? Or gone down to the auditions? Talk about it here!!

After that break, we went into the second half of the show. We are now in the home stretch! After the break, they showed a montage of the Ford Music Videos. They each got a Mustang. Then Carrie Underwood came out and sang I’ll Stand By you. Speaking of Idol Gives Back, We never got a grand total amount! Clive Davis came out next to give a Special Presentation. Carrie Underwood was presented with an award because she has sold 6 mil. albums. Congrats Carrie. Clive also thanked everyone behind the scenes at Idol, I take part of that thanks ;) I do blog about the show… So I kinda am involved… I have to take a 5 minute pause after this, got a puzzle… While I was working on the puzzle, I was glad to hear that I didn’t have to see Sanjaya sing on the stage again. But I did make it back in time to see Green Day on stage. Taylor Hicks came out after the break singing his latest single. Then my FAVORITE American Idol and Jordin on stage. I was absolutely a Ruben Studdard Fan. Every time I hear him...

It’s the night we’ve all been waiting for. Who will take the title? The beat boxer from Seattle or the sweetheart? I know I got that wrong… This is American Idol!! Blake got louder noise than Jordin… I am really not sure what’s going to happen! Soon after the opening of the show, Blake and Jordin sang “Saw her standing there”. Little bit of lovin goin on during that song ;) Next Gwen sang from a stage out where ever she is on tour right now. Then Ryan told us that after the break the top 12 would be on stage and that there will be a few surprise waiting for us. Kelly Clarkson sang her latest single… Then it was the Golden Idols Awards!!! I couldn’t catch the nominations. Then the top 6 guys came out and sang. Yes, even Sanjaya… still sucks at singing. (Oh, this is a family blog? Woops, better bleep that out…) They also sang with Smokey Robinson. Yep…. He still cant sing… After the break, Blake sang with Doug-E-Fresh. Awesome. Best performance on the stage so far tonight. The show started off very fast with an interview with Jennifer Hudson. They talked about how if you don’t win idol, win an oscar. Next Simon, his girlfriend and Jordin came on the set. Simon basically said Congrats to Jordin in advance for winning. Third, Randy walked on stage, then Ruben, they talked about his new album. Ruben moved on and Blake walked up to the mic. Talked to him about going to sell lots of albums. Finally a break…. Phew! I got up to get dinner, a veggie burger and a salad, and Taylor Hicks was on camera. He stunk last year. They also talked about how most of the previous Idol’s (all but Fantasia) will be on stage singing one song. Something that they haven’t done before… Shockingly, another break… Sanjaya was next…. Wanted to smack em. Paula spoke next. She sounded like she went to some pre-idol parties… had a few drinks. Zac Efron came up next. Talked about who he thinks is going to win (Jordin obviously) and what he is currently working on. One final break before...

Idol doesnt start until 8:00 PM EST tonight BUT the Pre-Idol show starts at 7:30... I will try to cover that in one post and each half of the normal show in a post. So thats 3 (4 counting this one) posts about Idol tonight alone!!

Well, I can tell you that I remember sitting here writing the very first Idol post months ago. I love Idol when it starts in January because it just makes the months pass by. Now we are here at the finale. Who is your next American Idol? Lets see how well they sing. Each contestant has 3 numbers that you can call. I will add them to the list below. HOWEVER, there isn’t three numbers for text voting. The number that is in bold is there texting number. Also note that the “Last week” vote is based on the last weeks Last Song which was the second song they chose. Well my friends, at 10:00 PM EST tomorrow night, we will have crowned a winner of American Idol 6. Also tomorrow night at 10:01 PM EST, The Dish is going to lose its skin. (For the non-technical, thats the nice blue color and the "The Dish American Idol" Thingy at the top) I need a new idea until I start posting about Big Brother 8... I already have something for that... TV.com's annual TV poll

Recently, TV.com sent me an email about their poll which asks voters to pick the TV show they are really excited about the Finale. The results came in with a not-so-good look on American Idol... Heroes - 39% Lost - 24% Grey's Anatomy - 8% 24 - 8% Smallville - 7% House - 5% The Sopranos - 5% American Idol - 3% The Amazing Race - 2% I watch House and American Idol off of that list so those are my number 1 and 2!! Maybe I will blog about the House Finale and the American Idol finale? Who knows...

Who do I want to win?

I have been wondering something for a few weeks now. Do the producers of American Idol read my blog? We have been calling last season predictable. Then we had Sanjaya. Then we started calling this season predictable and people were “forgettable.” Then we lost Melinda. Then we compared… We were comparing this season to previous ones. Maybe not on the blog, but in our heads that’s probably what we were doing. Besides, we were calling last season “predictable.” Last season wasn’t very predictable because I knew Daughtry was going to be eliminated before the finale. I thought he was too much of a rocker. I felt an Idol should be able to sing everything, but especially good in one genre. Take Carrie Underwood for example. She sang a rock song one week and it worked well. That proved she was the Idol that year. Daughtry? He sang rock EVERY single week. Even during COUNTRY week, he sang the rock version of a country song… Not a one was slower than the previous week. Homer Simpson was filling in for Ryan a little bit… He was ok… I’m really not sure who is going home!!! Based on singing, Blake will go home… I would agree with Randy on that part. So, after the opening credits, we saw the usual Who sang What clip which was very well done this time I must say… After the break, we got to see Jordin’s trip home which was awesome… Then he talked to Jordin about what she sang last night. And sent her to sit down for now… We also got to see Blake’s trip home which was very nice. Then Elliott sang his hit song right now. My only problem was he kept closing his eyes!!!! Other than that it was good. Melinda had a Day and a Street named after her! I think that would be awesome to have your own street… Anyways, her trip home was very nice. Next up is Maroon 5 and the results to see who goes to the Kodak theater. The Maroon 5 song was good. I like the CD version better. Ok, results… Jordin is safe. Blake is safe as well, and my Melinda goes home.
