American Idol 8: Top 7 Night 3?

I guess we'll just continue with that title since it's still the top 7.... I wonder who will go home this week... It's tough because it's Disco music tonight!

Lil Rounds is up first this week with Chakaka's song, I'm Every Woman. They didnt do a little video opening... I guess that's another cut they are making to get the show over faster... Which means their plan to make the show more story oriented is over... Back to Lil... I liked the way the show started. Apparently she was sick and had no voice yesterday. I still don't know who she is as a singer. Simon thinks it's her last week, I agree.

Kris Allen sang She Works Hard for the Money by Donna Summers. I thought it was a brilliant performance. Unlike Lil, we know who he is as an artist. If I did not know the name of the song, I would have never known what song he sang. I love what Paula had to say! "Many women can shop in the mens department, but not many men shop in the women's department. And you found a perfect fit." The song had a very "Justin Nazuka-y" sound to it. Look him up on youtube.

Singing Earth Wind And Fire's September is Danny Gokey. My fav EWF song! The song really worked for him tonight. I think his performances are good but he's always forgettable to me.  I think him, Kris and Adam will be duking it out for the finale.

Allison Iraheta sang Hot Stuff also by Donna Summers. I didn't recognize the song until she got to the chorus. The vocals were amazing, the arrangement was interesting. Simon thought it was a brilliant performance and I must agree!

Adam Lambert takes the stage next with If I Can't Have You by Yvonne Elliman. Lookes like he has Clay Aiken's hair tonight. The performance made Paula cry. Randy brought up a point that I've been making for 7 years! By this point in the competition, the contestants should be showing their genre range and Adam has done that. No question about it.

Singing Stayin' Alive is the Saved Matt Giraud. Perfect song reflecting the save from last week. The vocals were good, I didn't care for the song. And Paula, leave the metaphors to Simon. Simon told him he needs to take him out of "Idol land". I also agree with Simon that it sounded desperate.

Anoop Desai closes the show tonight with Dim All The Lights by Donna Summers. Woh! Anoop has a 'stache! Kutner with a 'stache Sad He looks like he grew 5 years in a week. I thought the performance was terrible. Vocals were all over the place. I dont think he'll have a hard time staying safe and making it to the top 5.

So, I think that the bottom three tomorrow is definiely going to be Anoop, Matt, and Lil. With Anoop and Lil going home. See ya then!!
