And the countdown to the finale has BEGUN! We are at the top 10. Here it goes!

I have decided that this season I will watch the show and judge without the imput of the judges. I mute them while I type my results. Then I replayed the results during breaks and said who I agreed with. Honestly!! These performances are in order so if you are still up until 12:00 PM EST tonight, you can still call in! Remember the number is 1-866-IDOLS(43657)-(their two digits eg. 01 or 12) OR if you have a AT&T Wireless phone, you can text the word VOTE to 57(their two digits). ((OK now I really feel like Ryan))

01. Ramile Malubay sang Alone by Heart.

How I think they did: Wrong song choice, bad singing. Bleck! She did good enough because she has no voice.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 10) (Last week: 9)

02. Jason Castro sang Fragile by Sting.

How I think they did: I liked it! Not his best but not his worst either!

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 8) (Last week: 8)

03. Syesha Mercado sang If I Were Your Woman by Artist.

How I think they did: That was amazing! Best by far tonight.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 5) (Last week: 4)

04. Chikezie Eze sang If Only for One Night by Luther Vandross.

How I think they did: It was OK, not his best. Was kinda cheesy and lame. Definitly wasn’t original.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 6) (Last week: 3)

05. Brooke White sang Every Breath You Take by The Police.

How I think they did: She is one of my favorite performers on this show. I would have liked to see something a little different but it went very well.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 4) (Last week: 5)

06. Michael Johns sang We Will Rock You, We Are the Champoins by Queen.

How I think they did: WOW, That ROCKED. He nailed it!

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 7) (Last week: 10)

07. Carly Smithson sang Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler.

How I think they did: I liked it, not my favorite tho.

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 3) (Last week: 2)

08. David Archuleta sang You’re the Voice by David Foster and Jeff Pescetto.

How I think they did: No idea what song he just sang but it rocked. Another great performance by him.

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 1) (Last week: 1)

09. Kristy Lee Cook sang God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood.

How I think they did: There were some pitch problems. I want to see someone do something different with that song. It was kinda boring to me.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 9) (Last week: 11)

10. David Cook sang Billie Jean by Michael Jackson.

How I think they did: WOW, WHAT A WAY TO END THE NIGHT. He ROCKED it! He is the one to beat!

Remember the number is 1-866-IDOLS(43657)-(their two digits eg. 01 or 12) OR if you have a AT&T Wireless phone, you can text the word VOTE to 57(their two digits). ((OK now I really feel like Ryan))

01. Amanda Overmyer sang Back in the U.S.S.R. by The Beatles.

02. Kristy Lee Cook sang Hide yourself away by The Beatles.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 1) (Last week: 1)

04. Michael Johns sang A Day in the Life by The Beatles.

I agree with Simon and Brooke on replay.

My Order (This week: 5) (Last week: 4)

06. David Cook sang Song by The Beatles.

Top 12 turns into Top 11
12 March 08 08:59 PM | Zach | 1 comment(s)

Well, here it goes!

Jim Carrey was in the audience.... dressed into an elephant... Then we found out that next week will be MORE songs from the Lennon/McCartney song book... NOOOO bet David Archuletta was POed!! They did a really nice montage... but I SWEAR I saw Cheesecake Man's sister in the audience! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Next up was the recap... BOring... Just read the dish! Thats all ya need Smile

Now they are picking the bottom three. Karly, Jason, Syesha, and Michael were out on the stage first. Karly is deemed safe. Michael is safe. Jason is also safe. Syesha is in the bottom three. They also have her sing... I had her at 7th... Whats up America???

We got to see the first FORD Commercial of the season! Was all about elections. Not bad actually... Alright, back to the results... or not... another video about the idols. Onto the stage were Chikezie, Amanda, David Cook, and Kristy. Chikezie was SAFE! Amanda is also safe. Kristy said "Where's my mic?" she knew she was in the bottom three. I have her as going home this week.

After the break, they took LIVE calls! I would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOO scared talking on the air!

Kat McPhee was on the stage next!! Probably my least favorite Idol... LAME.... BOOOOOOOOOOOORing

Alright, here is the final 4 group of the night... David A, David H, Brooke, and Ramile. David Archuletta is SAFE!  Brooke is SAFE! I had Hernandez and Ramile in the bottom 3. Hernandez is indeed in the bottom three.

After the break, we get to send someone back to their seat! If I had to pick right now, Hernandez is going home.

Syesha is the first to go back to safety! After 29 million votes, AMerica has decided that Kristy.... is safe. HERNANDES IS GOING HOME.

Its BEATLES Night!

And then there were 12! Tonight we get to see for the first time this season, the top 6 guys and the top 6 girls on the same stage! This being the even larger stage. I’m really excited about it! As I started last week, I will be rating the idols on how I think they did (as in rank wise) I will not however be posting their “rank” from last week because that was out of 8, not 12. Here we go!

01. Syesha Mercado sang Got To Get You Into My Life by The Beatles.

How I think they did: There were some pitch problems at the beginning… but it ended OK.

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 7) (Last week: -)

02. Chikezie Eze sang She’s a Woman by The Beatles.

How I think they did: That was completely AMAZING! That was the best risk of the night so far. He will definitely make it another week!

I agree with on Simon replay.

My Order (This week: 5) (Last week: -)

03. Ramile Malubay sang In My Life by The Beatles.

How I think they did: First off, the arms swaying thing from the audience was LAME. The performance was good but just didn’t rock my world. The whole thing was too safe for her.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 10) (Last week: -)

04. Jason Castro sang If I Fell by The Beatles.

How I think they did: That was a great performance. But it ended up kinda boring. He could have done it better.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 8) (Last week: -)

05. Carly Smithson sang Come Together by The Beatles.

How I think they did: Watching that, I didn’t hear a bit out of tune! It was brilliant! Definitely going to go far because of that performance.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 2) (Last week: -)

06. David Cook sang Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles.

How I think they did: AMAZING. Started a bit iffy but then the chorus hit it ROCKED! He will go far.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 3) (Last week: -)

07. Brooke White sang Let it Be by The Beatles.

How I think they did: That was awesome. Truly did it for me. One of my favorite Beatles songs. She has the talent to go very far.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 4) (Last week: -)

08. David Hernandez sang I Saw Her Standing There by The Beatles.

How I think they did: It had a lot of pitch problems. He overdid the whole thing. I’ll be surprised if he makes it to next week.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 11) (Last week: -)

09. Amanda Overmyer sang You Can’t Do That by The Beatles.

How I think they did: I didn’t think it was as good as last week. But it was really well done.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 6) (Last week: -)

10. Michael Johns sang Across the Universe by The Beatles.

How I think they did: It didn’t work for me. I got bored watching and did something else. Its time to let it go and sing better! That’s that.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 9) (Last week: -)

11. Kristy Lee Cook sang 8 Days a Week by The Beatles.

How I think they did: I don’t know… I’m half and half about it (like Randy)

I agree with on replay.

My Order (This week: 12) (Last week: -)

12. David Archuleta sang We Can Work It Out by The Beatles.

How I think they did: It wasn’t his best. But he did the best he could. Still getting top marks from me because he will get top votes. No doubt! I also believe he forgot the words at one point.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 1) (Last week: -)

Overall, everyone did a fantastic job tonight! I ABSOLUTLY LOVED the new stage! It’s such a big difference from years prior. My bottom three means that one of them should be going home this week. So, Ramiel, David H, and Kristy Lee Cook have the best chance at going home. Send in those votes everyone!!

Idol: Meet your Top 12!
06 March 08 07:54 PM | Zach | 5 comment(s)

Thats right, tonight we get to meet the Top 12 American Idol contestants! And then, this weekend, I will add a "Big Brother" like elimination banner, on the side of the blog, so for QUICK updates, you can always look there!

Since I'm working on my baselines, I wont have 100% of the information from the show, but I'll do my best to cover everything! We started off the night with a nice performance from Blake Lewis! Chris Sly is now in his band as well (I guess...) After the break, we get to send some over to the top 12!

David Cook stands up first. He is first in the top 12. David Archuleta is next up. In the top 12! Jason Castro is next up. He's in the top 12! After the break, we see the top few girls get into the top 12!

Brooke White stands up first. She is in the top 12. Syesha is up next. Into the top 12! Kady Malloy (I called it) is the first OUT of the competition. The good-bye songs are USUALLY better than their performance the day before, her singing was HORRIBLE today! Glad she's gone...

Starting next week, American Idol will be opening their phone lines to Live Call-ins during the show. Simon looked a little scared about that...

David Hernandez is up now. He is in the top 12.  Michael Johns next. In the top 12. Luke Menard (I called it again) Is going home. Chikezie and Danny (both low on my charts) are left on the couch. We go back to the ladies after the break.

Ramiele is up...into the top 12. Carley is up next. she is safe. Amanda next into the top 12. Asia'h and Kristy are last in the dark as to who is in the top 12. I think Kristy is going home...

Asia'h is going home shockingly.  Right after she was done singing, they announce that Danny is leaving.

See you next week for BEATLES week! (That was a good 3/4 guess this week!)

Ladies Eighties Night!
05 March 08 09:28 PM | Zach | 1 comment(s)

Get ready for Lady’s 80s night! The top 8 girls will be belting it out to the songs of the 80s just as the guys did last night. Will they do as well as the men? Or will they fall to defeat? This is American Idol!!

Also, just like last night, I will rate them 1 through 8 but I won’t be listing the numbers next week during the top 12 performances.

01. Asia’h Epperson sang I Wanna Dance With Sombody by Whitney Houston.

How I think they did: It was just OK… Not much more that I could say. She’ll be in the top 12 though.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 4) (Last week: -)

02. Kady Malloy sang Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen.

How I think they did: Had MAJOR pitch problems at the beginning. That could be the end of the road for her. However, it was better than last week.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 8) (Last week: -)

03. Amanda Overmyer sang I Hate Myself for Loving You by Joan Jett.

How I think they did: I thought she sang that song fairly well. The hair was MUCH better this week (haha). She has found her niche BUT I think we need to see a “softer side” or a different song type from her. Just to show that she has that Idol quality.

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 2) (Last week: -)

04. Carly Smithson sang I Drove All Night by Cyndi Lauper.

How I think they did: I thought it was really really good! It started off a bit shaky for me but in the end, it was great!

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 3) (Last week: -)

05. Kristy Lee Cook sang Faithfully by Journey.

How I think they did: Her eyes were closed for a lot of it, that drove me nuts! It was a great performance, a little too much vibrato in it. The country aspect of the song was cool. A teensy bit of a pitch problem but in the end, it was great!

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 7) (Last week: -)

06. Ramile Malubay sang Against All Odds (Take a Look At Me Now) by Phil Collins.

How I think they did: It was OK… I kinda stopped paying attention half way through it… Boring…

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 6) (Last week: -)

07. Brooke White sang Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar.

How I think they did: Brooke has to be my favorite out of the ladies. I liked the fact that it was totally different than we are used to hearing. It was perfect!

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 1) (Last week: -)

08. Syesha Mercado sang Saving All My Love For You by Whitney Houston.

How I think they did: Not bad…. “Good” that’s all we got from the judges… must be running late!

I agree with on replay.

My Order (This week: 5) (Last week: -)

Idol top 8 guys!
04 March 08 09:23 PM | Zach | 1 comment(s)

Tonight, Top 8 guys! This is it for the little stage! The guys need to BRING it tonight in order to keep going in the competition. Only the best 12 will get to experience the Beatles week next week! I’m actually going to rate them this week, but next week, I will probably have different numbers for everyone because the guys and the girls will be combined. Good luck!

I have decided that this season I will watch the show and judge without the input of the judges.

01. Luke Menard sang Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham!.

How I think they did: I hated it! I hope that the night isn’t all like this. Very weak, kinda girly. He’s definitely going to be bottom 2 tonight.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 8) (Last week: -)

02. David Archuleta sang Another Day in Paradise by Phil Collins.

How I think they did: He’s trying out the piano this week! I liked it a lot, the piano was a nice touch. He had a few pitch problems… Maybe needs to lighten up the songs a bit…

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 1) (Last week: -)

03. Danny Noriega sang Tainted Love by Soft Cell.

How I think they did: Well, it wasn’t spectacular. Was pitchy at the beginning. The end was probably better than the beginning.

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 7) (Last week: -)

04. David Hernandez sang Song by Artist.

How I think they did: He’s doing a great job but this song just doesn’t mix with my opinions about him right now. Watch the news and you’ll know what I’m talking about. There’s a good chance he could be eliminated by default because of his past. Other than that it was a great performance. But there were pitch problems. I haven’t had a “favorite” yet, they’ve all been kind of weak to me.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 5) (Last week: -)

05. Michael Johns sang Don’t You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds.

How I think they did: That was really good! Great song choice, very nice performance.

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 3) (Last week: -)

06. David Cook sang Hello by Lionel Ritchie.

How I think they did: Very well done, he could release it today and I would buy it! iTunes, here I come!! Now I just need iTunes credit… haha

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 2) (Last week: -)

07. Jason Castro sang Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.

How I think they did: Great song, that’s a tough song to sing but he did really well. No guitar this week was nice, took the tip from Simon I guess.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 4) (Last week: -)

08. Chikezie Eze  sang All the Man That I Need by Linda Clifford.

How I think they did: Started a little shaky but it turned out really well.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 6) (Last week: -)

Great show tonight!

Don't give me no whole 'nother guy -- I like me! I still got the gap. I kept it in the middle. I think it's sexy. I always like ti growing up. I didn't want a new mouth. I like my mouth."
