Zach is HOH
31 August 07 09:40 AM | bechoo | 3 comment(s)

Last night Amber was evicted with a 3-1 vote.  Typically the evicted house guest appears on the Early Show the following morning.  This was not the case today.  "CBS has canceled tomorrow's interviews with Amber. Unfortunately, your questions will not be able to be answered this week by the latest evictee."

The HOH competition was a close one.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBKWJE4VjqQ&NR=1  Zach won, Evel was a close second, Dani third and Eric fourth.  Things got a little interesting on the message boards last night.  There was speculation that Zach did not actually complete the competition.  This morning however it is official.  He is the new HOH.

I wish I had all the details about the competition but here are a couple of tidbits.  Eric won a phone call.  He has given it to Jessica.  She hopes her brother is home and she will be able to talk with him.  They also gave up hot water for 8 days.

Everyone was talking about being on slop this week.  They were sure that BB would not let them go two weeks not being on slop.

It is double eviction week.  The HG's do not know this, yet.

Janelle will be on House Calls today and was on the Early Show in place of Amber.  She will also be the hostess for the POV competition.

I think it is going to be an interesting week.  :)

Around the World for Free (Part 2)
31 August 07 12:00 PM | Zach | with no comments

So yesterday I introduced the new online reality TV show called Around the World for Free. Today,  I am going to give you more information about it. I am also trying to get an interview with Alex and Burton who are in the shows cast. If you have questions you would like to ask, please email them to zach@steeplemedia.com.

So, here are the facts.

The winner of Amazing Race (Alex Boylan) and former Survivor finalist (Burton Roberts) AND Emmy-Award nominated editor/director (Zsolt Luka) announced the show the other day. This is an extreme travel reality series that allows users to fully participate and influence the outcome of the show.

Boylan, the star of the show, will depart from the CBS Early Show in NYC without a single penny in his pocket. The viewers and his tour guides will be clued in via interactive tools. Everything can be seen at www.aroundtheworldforfree.com. Catchy I know... Luka will accompany only as a crew member to document progress along the way which will air in short daily and weekly 8-12 minute videos... I mean "webisodes".

This show is the only professional show to only use 2 cameras, fly across borders and absent of security and on-location production support of any kind. The show will also feature music from different countries.

"We are excited to harness a lifelong shared love of travel, the expertise of three reality show veterans, a cutting edge tech-savvy director and the power of the Internet to create the first next-generation live interactive extreme travel reality experience," said Roberts.

So, how is this going to work you ask? How is he going to fly without any money? The Internet fan community will be encouraged to offer suggestions on travel destinations, advice on interesting people to interact with, even viable tips on places where Alex might find a room and board via email, message boards and cellular text messaging. I guess he doesnt have a cell phone bill, just think of all the roaming minutes he would have to pay... Here's an example, he may act on a viewer's suggestion to connect with a long lost relative for a job in Peru or seek out a viewer's sister for a place to crash in Cape Town, South Africa.

I plan on keeping up with this series, unless you would like to, zach@steeplemedia.com. Dont forget to send those questions, I may ask them to the producers!!

Jeff Foxworthy on Ohio
31 August 07 10:10 AM | Zach | 2 comment(s)

Supposidly, Jeff Foxworthy wrote the following about Ohio. It is probaby the most accurate jokes I've ever read.

All I have to say is "Go Bucks!"      You might be from Southern Ohio (pronounced ah-hi-uh), or Northern Ohio (pronounced O-hi-uh) if you understand the term "GO   BUCKS!" Everything you wear is red. Your house is gray and red and so is your car. You think all Pro football teams are supposed to wear orange      You know all the 4 seasons: winter, still winter, almost Winter, and swelter while waiting in construction. You live less than 30 miles from some college or university. You know what a buckeye really is, and have a recipe for Candy ones. "Toward the lake" means "north" and "toward the river" means "south." You know if other Ohioans are from southern or northern Ohio as soon as they open their mouths. You can spell words like Cuyahoga, Olentangy, Bellefontaine,   Tuscarawas,   Wapakoneta and you know which letter is doubled in Cincinnati "Vacation” means spending a day at Cedar Point in the summer and deer hunting in the fall. You measure distance in minutes. Your school classes were cancelled because of cold. Your school classes were cancelled because of heat.     You've had to switch from "heat” to "A/ C" in the same day. You know what should be knee-high by the Fourth of July. You end your sentences with an unnecessary preposition. For example:   "Where's my coat at?" You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked. You think of the major four food groups as corn, pork, beer, and Jell-O salad with marshmallows. You carry jumper cables in your car. You know what 'pop' is. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow. You think sexy lingerie is tube socks and a flannel nightgown. The local paper covers national and international headlines on one page but requires six pages for sports. You know which leaves make good toilet paper.

8-31 Dish: David Letterman on Oprah?
31 August 07 09:00 AM | Zach | with no comments

Well, I guess I skipped out on a few posts yesterday. As I have said, you will see lots more of me this month than ever!

Britney's New Single Leaked; Custody Battle Heats Up...
I believe that my prediction at the begining of the year is we would hear lots more about her than ever. And I was right. Oh was there a story for this? woops. If anyone cares, I will try and find that single for your enjoyment.

David Letterman to Appear on Oprah's Show...
Alright, rumors are true, September 10. Look for em.
Old adversaries David Letterman and Oprah, who began a long, hard journey of healing from their nasty feud when Oprah appeared on Letterman's Late Show in '05, will meet again next month.
This time it'll be on Oprah's turf: Letterman will appear on a live edition of The Oprah Winfrey Show Sept. 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The war between the talk-show titans lasted a decade. It followed a familiar pattern: Letterman would mock Oprah, who'd then release rueful statements of hurt. In '03, she told Time magazine she felt "completely uncomfortable" being Letterman's target.
Will it be all peaches and cream at the Garden? Who knows. Last they met, Letterman was impish. "Are you sure it's over?" he said.

This one should be good to watch! Just kidding...

Lindsay's Parents Attack Each Other...
Just what we need, more drama!
Doesnt she look like her mom?

Michael Lohan has launched a scathing attack on his ex-wife Dina - after she granted him permission to visit their daughter Lindsay in rehab.
The actress' estranged father accuses Dina of spreading lies about him in court in order to stop him from seeing his four children, Lindsay, Michael Jr., Dakota and Aliana.

Thats it for now, I have some work to do and I will post part 2 of the dish!

Around the world for Free

There is a new internet show that I will be posting about, Its called "Around the World for free" I guess. Alex Boylan, who won the Amazing Race, is going on the world journy only with his wits and "an interactive Internet-based fan network as currency." I have a bunch of information about it that I will try to post later. I am also going to try and get some exclusive interviews with the hosts of the show.

I will have more information about this later today!

Wow, it hasn't been this boring since... well... never!
30 August 07 10:00 AM | Zach | with no comments

You guessed it. The house has been calm and quiet. Basically nothing has happened at all this week. No one fighting... just kissing between Jess and Eric... and Evel??? Yeah, I guess that Evel and Zach kissed Eric... Just what I heard...

So, who do you think is going home tonight? Amber or Zach? I am hoping that WAAAAAMMMMMBER cries herself right out the door!

8-30 Dish: Britnay Spears finally releases a new single
30 August 07 09:00 AM | Zach | 1 comment(s)

My goal.... 365 posts by September 12. Why? Thats 365 days since I started this blog. Granted, I should discount weekends since.... no one reads on the weekends. For now, I have about 60 posts to go... and here is one of them.

 Britney is Back for 'More'...
I'm going to try to download this song and put up clips for everyone...
After months and months of "fake" Britney songs being leaked online, she's finally ready to release the first "real" single from her new highly anticipated fifth album.
A source tells Entertainment Weekly that the track "Gimme More," which is set to debut next week, is an "up-tempo" club track and with a "whole new sound."
Another person who got a sneak peak of the song told the mag’s website, "'It's a smash! She's going to come out strong."
"Gimme More," which is reportedly the name of the music video Britney was shooting last month, was produced by Nate "Danjahandz" Hills, who worked on Spears' former flame Justin Timberlake's 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' album.
Britney's yet untitled album has no release date.

Report: Owen Wilson Visits Church Before Attempting Suicide...
Once again, another update on this story...
Us Weekly magazine is reporting that three days before actor Owen Wilson attempted suicide, he was seen attending a local church in his Santa Monica neighborhood. It's not known the reasons behind Wilson's visit to St. Monica Church, but on Sunday he was reportedly found in his home by his brother Luke, who called authorities, after cutting his wrists and taking pills in an attempt to end his life.

To respect Owen Wilson, I will not post any more material about him unless it is major.

Las Vegas performer Wayne Newton

The new season of Dancing With The Stars, where these celebs will foxtrot, tango and waltz, debuts on September 24.

Christina Aguilera Set for Emmys Duet With Tony Bennett...
WOW, what a combo!
Christina Aguilera, who is reportedly pregnant, and newlywed Tony Bennett will perform together at the Emmy Awards next month in a number choreographed by 'Chicago' director Rob Marshall.
The couple will sing "Steppin' Out (With My Baby)," which they sang together on the TV special Tony Bennett: An American Classic.

Well, thats all I have for now...

8-29 Dish: Update on Owen Wilson, Miss South Carolina Teen USA's Mistake and a Big Brother Update
29 August 07 10:00 AM | Zach | 6 comment(s)

WOW, what a day! I haven't been that busy since ... well.... never! I barely got time to sit down and watch Power of Ten and Big Brother last night, but I will have my comments below...

Police Log Confirms Owen Wilson Attemped Suicide...
Extra TV is reporting that they have obtained the Calls for Service report from Santa Monica police, which lists "attempted suicide" as the reason for the 911 call made from Owen Wilson's home at 12:08 p.m. Sunday. His brother Luke reportedly found him. He was rushed to a local hospital and then transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
The Wedding Crashers star released a statement Monday, asking the media to respect his privacy and to "allow me to receive care and heal during...this difficult time."

Britnay Spears' former manager hiding from the K-feds (get it?)...
No, not the feds... the K-feds. Larry Rudolf, Brit's former manager, is hiding from K-fed and his lawyer trying to avoid being subpoenaed. Rudolph was fired by the singer in 2004, given another chance in November 2006, and then let go earlier this year.

Father-inlaw is Boycotting Amy Winehouse's music...
Ya know, "They tried to make me go to rehab, I said no, no, no" Its that catchy tune that you thought was geared toward Lindsay Lohan.
So Amy Winehouse's father-in-law is boycotting her music and is urging fans to do the same! Why? Well first... she collapsed earlier this month following three days of hard partying and was admitted to a London hospital,
Giles tells the BBC, "I think they believe they are recreational users of drugs, and they are in control..."
Winehouse’s father-in-law also said that the only way Amy will get help is if her fans stop buying her records.

Miss South Carolina Teen USA: "I Made a Mistake"...
If someone could find a video of this on Youtube, that would be awesome. zach@steeplemedia.com!
This is an article I found online, coutresy of Clear Channel.
Miss South Carolina Teen USA Lauren Caitlin Upton had a chance to redeem herself on the Today Show Tuesday after her jumbled answer to a geography question on Friday.
"I was overwhelmed, and I made a mistake," the 18-year-old told Ann Curry. "I'm human."
Ironically, the question posed to the third-runner-up was why she thought one-fifth of Americans are unable to locate the United States on a map.
"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps," she replied, referencing "the Iraq" and "Asian countries" and their need to support the education system in America so they could identify the United States on the map.
"I was just overwhelmed," Upton, who graduated with a 3.5 from Lexington High School said, but insisted that she knows where the United States is.
"Personally, my friends and I, we know exactly where the United States is on our map. I don't know anyone else who doesn't. And if the statistics are correct, I believe there should be more emphasis on geography in our education so people know how to read maps better."
Pageant host Mario Lopez told People that he wanted to help her out but pageant rules forbid it.
"It was a very intense moment," Lopez said. "It's live TV. You don't know what the question is until you get up there. And I believe that she misunderstood it. She went down the wrong road and couldn't figure out how to get back to the right one. I felt really badly for her."
The YouTube clip of Upton's faux pas has received over 2 million hits.

And finally, the Power of Ten/Big Brother 8 update!...

Alright, so The Power of Ten, I really didnt think that Amber would make it further than Dani. I thougth Dani would have won and at least won the Million. After the first 3 questions the rest of America met WWAAAAAAMBER! I also liked how they muted her mic when she talked about God. not sure why they did that though.
The show last night was good. Congrats to AmEricA on winning the veto. I also think that CBS didnt think Eric would make it this far in the game and are running out of things for him to do... As of last night, Eric has completed 17 tasks earning himself so far $30,000. I hope he wins.

Well, I gotta run for now. Hope you enjoyed todays Dish! (I cooked it myself!)

I know another local school that doesnt start for another week. Alright, enough ranting, time for The Dish!!

Owen Wilson Asks for Privacy...
I actually just watched the movie Vacancy the other day... wasnt he in it? I cant remember.
A day after actor Owen Wilson was rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles, he has released a statement to TMZ.com, asking for privacy.
"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."
A Cedars-Sinai Medical Center spokesman says that Wilson is "in good condition," according to the TV show Extra.

Another Hollywood hospitalization...
Hulk Hogan's son was released from the hospital after his horrific accident in Florida. Another TMZ.com quote from his mother...

"My son Nick and a friend were involved in a car accident last night. Nick suffered minor injuries and has been treated and released from the hospital.
At this time, his friend, John Graziano remains hospitalized. Nick is currently at the hospital with John and his family. His sole concern is for the well being of his friend. On behalf of my family, we ask that your thoughts and prayers be with John and his loved ones."

There is not much going on in the BB8 house.
Eric won POV.  He left the nominations the same after a 3 minute speech.Wow!  I'm surprised it was that short.  (Not everyone participated.  Evel was host.)  Jameka and Amber are starting to stir the pot.  They have started telling
Jess that Eric is calling her names I will not repeat.  Jessica is not sure whether or not to believe them.
Jameka is telling Amber she should try out for the show America's Next Top Model.  I'm not sure if Jameka really believes this is something Amber would be capable of doing or if it is some sort of head game.  I really don't see Amber being emotionally stable enough to  participate.
So we will see who goes home this week.

Scoutmom posted about another reality show earlier this week.  Stating that you the participant, were to contribute to the grand prize.
This got me thinking about all of the "Reality" shows out there.

Kid Nation has been getting a lot of publicity recently.  Did CBS go to far?  Would you let your child participate?  By the way, casting for Kid Nation 2 applications are available at CBS' website.

Pirate Master was a nice concept but after the first few episodes I lost interest.  One of the cast members committed suicide shortly after she was "cut adrift".  She was unfortunately not the first contestant of a reality show to commit suicide.  The applications say you should be of "sound mind".
Who deems you "of sound mind"?

Survivor China will be starting soon.  This one seems to be all about the controversy "an eclectic group of castaways".  Last season was all about racial divisions.

Which "reality" shows do you watch or would want to participate in?

Jessica is HOH and has nominated Zach and Amber for eviction.

I believe everyone gets to compete for POV this week.  If it is used Jess and Eric are considering backdooring Dani or Evel.

Food Competition was a luxury competition.  Girls against guys, thank heavens.  They had to compete naked.  Weird.  I don't think anyone is on Slop this week.

HG's talking about all possiblities for final four, and how they hope that Jen really did not go to be on the Jury.

There is also rumor that next HOH week will be double eviction.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Microsoft vs. GM
24 August 07 05:11 PM | Zach | 3 comment(s)

Sorry I havent been posting much this week, I have been baby sitting my cousins for a few days, will be on board next week! Plus, I am working on getting SFC2 ready!!

Here is a Microsoft joke to get you by...

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving twenty-five dollar cars that got 1000 mi/gal."
Recently General Motors addressed this comment by releasing the statement: "Yes, but would you want your car to crash twice a day?"
Not only that, but....
Every time they repainted the lines on the road you would have to buy a new car.
Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on.
Occasionally, executing a maneuver would cause your car to stop and fail and you would have to re-install the engine. For some strange reason, you would accept this too.
You could only have one person in the car at a time, unless you bought "Car95" or "CarNT". But, then you would have to buy more seats.
Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast, twice as easy to drive, but would only run on five percent of the roads.
The Macintosh car owners would get expensive Microsoft upgrades to their cars, which would make their cars run much slower.
The oil, gas and alternator warning lights would be replaced by a single "general car default" warning light.
New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt.
The airbag system would say "are you sure?" before going off.
If you were involved in a crash, you would have no idea what happened.

08/22 Big Brother Update
22 August 07 08:50 PM | bechoo | 2 comment(s)

After all the chaos in the house the other night the HG's have all been talking.  Zach and Evel were considering voting out Jameka since Jen already has a penalty nom and letting Amber win the HOH. "It doesn't matter who she puts up, we will be able to get Jen out".  Everyone has an idea.

Dani and Amber are back.  Being the winner and runner up of the POV they won a trip outside of the BB8 house.  They were flown to NYC to appear on the new CBS game show The Power of 10.  Rumor has it, it will air next Tuesday or Thursday.

Once back in the house they were told about everything that had taken place.  Jen by the way is still eating everything but SLOP and is acting very strange.  She was making comments about how CBS approached her and not the other way around.  She does not want to go to sequester house because she has already wasted so much of her precious time.

Dani didn't want to come back to her dad and they were fighting within hours of her return.

Eric has won $20,000 as America's Player thus far.  Most of his challenges have in some way affected Jessica.  They seem closer than ever.  How will she react when she finds out he was "playing" her, whether he wanted to or not.

It seems to have been a pretty uneventful time in the house since the night of the POV.  Tomorrow I think will be a different story.  The CBS boards (where I have gotten almost all this info from) are split as to who is going home.
