6-07 Dish: Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Jericho's return, Tony Nominations and more...
07 June 07 08:46 AM | Zach | 3 comment(s)

The Dish is celebrating the final run of “The Price is Right” today… Along with that, I have another story about Paris Hilton, Jericho, Jessica Simpson, and more!

"Price Is Right" Host Tapes Last Show After 35 Years…

How sad is that? I used to watch the show during my lunch hour (and no I’m not old). The final show was taped Wednesday.

Barker, 83, took the stage to a shower of confetti and a standing ovation but quickly got down to business conducting his usual assortment of contests and prize giveaways, culminating in a final "Showcase Showdown."

"This is a very emotional time for me," Barker said. "This is the first time since I was 21 years old that I didn't have a show." He declined to talk much about his immediate future, except to say, "I'm looking forward to being bored."

Pull the violins out for this one!!!

Paris Hilton Visited by Psychiatrist…

After just two days in jail, Paris had to whip out her blackberry and call her psychiatrist because she was having troubles or something.

TMZ has reported that Hilton was seen crying on the phone, saying her jail cell was "freezing cold."

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer Split Again…

The romance between Jessica Simpson and John Mayer is done, according to People.com.

"It is definitely over – the relationship has ended," said a Mayer insider to People.

I’m still waiting to see Simpson get back together with Nick Lachey.

 Network Planning "Jericho's" Return?...

TV drama Jericho may have a future after all - CBS is reportedly reviewing its decision to scrap the show after a internet campaign.

Appalled by the decision to scrap the cult series last month, which follows the fortunes of a community trying to survive after a nuclear attack, super fan Jeff Knoll linked up with online company NutsOnline.com to let TV bosses know just what he thought of them.

Other fans caught wind of Knoll's idea, and so far nearly 20,000 pounds of nuts have been sent to various network executives in New York and Los Angeles.

Talks with cast members are now reportedly under way, with a possibility of making seven more episodes.

In a statement, Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, said the network had been "humbled" and was hoping "to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story."

As of today, SteepleMedia.com is a year old. Four members into the website, I came into the picture. 790,717 visits and 4,706,018 million page views later, we are here today. We are all going to have a party at my house tonight celebrating. You are all invited!

After one year of being online, I dont think its time yet to reflect on the past. But, I guess I could mention that we have had numerous winners in various "games" online such as AOL Gold Rush, Ten Hunt, eScavengers, Dr. Pepper hunt, and many more. If I were to count all the money that steeple winners have won, I would say well over $100,000.

But lets stop looking at the past shall we? What about the future! Have any ideas on how to make Steeple Media Year 2 a success? Let us know!!!

MTV Music/Video Awards, Paris Hilton, Rosie O'Donnell and more!
05 June 07 09:35 AM | Zach | 1 comment(s)

Apparently, the MTV music video awards were over the weekend. For some reason, I didn’t get the memo. So for you today, I have some (or all, I’m not sure) of the results. I also have some Paris Hilton updates, some news from Rosie O’Donnall and much more!

 Uggg… Paris Hilton…

Paris’s lawyer says she is doing OK in jail. Yeah… right. We were also told that she would receive no special treatment. I bet if I walked into that jail, she wouldn’t be sitting in a cell that’s for sure… Here’s the story.

One day into her 23-day jail sentence, Paris Hilton is being described as a "polite" prisoner, according to TMZ.com.You'd expect her to have followed her appearance on the MTV Movie Awards by hitting a string of exclusive parties. Nope. The ever-dramatic heiress instead capped off the evening by turning herself into the Los Angeles County Sheriff to begin serving her time for violating probation by driving with a suspended license. As first reported by TMZ, Hilton went straight from the show, which was broadcast from L.A.'s Gibson Amphitheater, to the home of her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton. From there, her lawyer, Richard Hutton, took Paris, Kathy and Paris' sister Nicky to downtown L.A.'s Men's Central Jail, where Paris surrendered before being transported to the Lynwood, Calif., jail where she will serve her sentence. The Sheriff reportedly wanted her to surrender at the men's jail to avoid any safety hazard that may have been created by the paparazzi camped outside the Lynwood facility.

(Some background: usually, such escort duties would be handled by her connected-at-the-hip publicist, Eliott Mintz. However, Hilton maintains that it was Mintz who told her that she could drive on her suspended license for work-related matters. The judge in the case, Michael T. Sauer, chided Hilton for taking legal advice from her publicist and not her lawyer, and Hilton briefly fired Mintz after being sentenced, only to rehire him shortly thereafter.)

Rosie O'Donnell Comes Out of Hiding to Promote New Book…Former talk show host Rosie O'Donnell has branded the on-air feud that caused her to quit The View a "publicity stunt."The star's war of words with fellow co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck over differing political views last month led to O'Donnell leaving the show - but she now insists the dramatic argument was purposely incited, according to the New York Daily News. Lindsay Lohan's Mom Lands TV Show?...Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina is being lined up to front her own reality TV show in an attempt to make her other offspring famous. The actress' mother is in talks to star in a new show on entertainment channel E!, titled Mom-ager, where she will try to turn her youngest children Ali, 14, and 11-year-old Cody into stars. Paula Abdul "Hurt" by Leaked Meltdown Tape…

If I find that tape, I will be sure to post it. If you know where to find it however, feel free to post it as well Smile

Paula Abdul is angry with the "illegal" and "unethical" leaking of a videotape of a recent conference call in which she sobs on camera and blames her management for treating her badly.

In footage obtained by the New York Post, the American Idol judge can be seen blasting former representative Howard Bragman - who she accuses of calling her "a whining bit** and a loser."

Wooooo! What happened to “Family Friendly???”

The full list of winners is as follows: BEST MOVIE  -- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Walt Disney Pictures)  BEST PERFORMANCE  -- Johnny Depp- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Walt Disney Pictures)  BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE  -- Jaden Smith -- The Pursuit of Happyness (Sony Pictures)  BEST COMEDIC PERFORMANCE  -- Sacha Baron Cohen -- Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (20th Century Fox)  BEST KISS  -- Will Ferrell & Sacha Baron Cohen -- Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (Sony Pictures)  BEST VILLAIN  -- Jack Nicholson -- The Departed (Warner Bros. Pictures)  BEST FIGHT  -- Gerard Butler vs. "The Uber Immortal" -- 300 (Warner Bros. Pictures)  BEST SUMMER MOVIE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN YET  -- Transformers (Paramount Pictures)  mtvU BEST FILMMAKER ON CAMPUS  -- Josh Greenbaum (University of Southern California) -- "Border Patrol"

Well, there you have it! That should satisfy your Dishly cravings. If not, be sure to get a good nights rest and take two tablets in the morning.

Hell's Kitchen Day 1
04 June 07 09:58 PM | Zach | 2 comment(s)

Tonight is the season premier of Hell’s Kitchen!  This season looks better than previous ones. Actually, I did not watch season two. For some reason, I didn’t get into it. I am basically going to post a recap of the show for those who missed it.

This episode is expected to be dedicated to the memory of Season 2 contestant Rachel Brown, who was found dead on May 9, 2007 at her home in Bedford, Texas. A memorial service was scheduled for May 26, just nine days before the scheduled air date.

The third season features the following contestants on these initial teams, separated by gender:

Blue Team

  • Aaron, 48, a retirement home chef from Palos Verdes, CA
  • Brad, 25, a sous chef from Scottsdale, AZ
  • Eddie, 28, a grill cook from Atlanta, GA
  • Josh, 26, a junior sous chef from Miami Beach, FL
  • Rock, 30, an executive chef from Spotsylvania, VA
  • Vinnie, 29, a night club chef from Milltown, NJ

Red Team

  • Bonnie, 26, a nanny/personal chef from Los Angeles, CA
  • Jen, 26, a pastry chef from Hazelton, PA
  • Joanna, 22, a chef's assistant from Detroit, MI
  • Julia, 28, a short-order cook from Atlanta, GA
  • Melissa, 29, a line cook from New York, NY
  • Tiffany, 27, a kitchen manager from Scottsdale, AZ

It looks like this season is going to be very VERY dramatic and traumatic. It appears as someone stabs themselves at some point in the season. INTENSE!!!

I absolutely love how he starts the season. “Shut up, get in that kitchen and cook something.”

All the chefs came out with their “signature dish.” To be honest, I could have cooked something that looked better than what they cooked. One guy brought out cooked gnocchi. Well, he didn’t have time to make fresh ones so he used frozen. Stupid, stupid, stupid!!! All this food is making me hungry!

Chef Ramsay came out and told the chefs that they pretty much sucked their first day. Hell’s Kitchen opens tomorrow so they need lots of sleep and they have a long day ahead of them.

The Red team (the girls) were having a hard time communicating. The Blue team (the guys) are having a hard time communicating as well but at least they are doing well, helping each other out etc. The big Asian guy is crying all over the place. They picked some weird people…

After the restaurant opened… all I can say is INTENSE!!! One kitchen ran out of supplies. Obviously didn’t plan enough. The other kitchen couldn’t cook a stupid egg. Come on! I can cook eggs! Aint that hard… I wouldn’t be surprised if Ramsay closed the kitchen now and sent em all home.

The Red Team (the guys) are rockin’ out the appetizers, while the Blue team (the girls) are still stuck on the eggs! The fat Asian cook washed his face, and quit. Then he started crying again! BIG BABY!!! Send em home!!!

One kitchen was sent back their spaghetti, the other ran out of chicken. They only had four pieces to start with… I have no idea how they thought that would be enough. Tables started getting up and leaving, unfed. That’s when Ramsay calls it quits…

My guess, the red team (the girls) are going to be up for elimination. However, the guy on the blue team that walked off of the kitchen… That might be the decision factor to eliminate a member of the Blue team.

Red team gets the boot for sure. He sets Melissa (I believe) as the winner of the losers. She gets to pick two of her team mates who she feels that aren’t worthy of staying in the kitchen. She nominates: Joanna because the way they worked together. 2- Tiffany because how long the appetizers took. Ramsay gets to pick who she thinks should go home. “Tiffany get the Hell out of my Kitchen.” Ah, darn… he didn’t use that saying!!! I swore he would. Oh, well… I didn’t think that she was going home… Joanna should have gone home.

Tune in next week for Kitchen opening #2!!!

American Kids vs. Italian Kids
04 June 07 09:43 AM | Zach | 1 comment(s)
American Kids: Move out when they're 18 with the full support of their parents
**Italian Kids: Move out when they're 28, having saved for that nice house and are a week away from getting married .... unless there's room in the basement for the newlyweds.

**American Kids: When their Mom visits them she brings a nice bundt cake and you sip coffee and chat.
** Italian Kids: When their Mom visits them she brings 3 days worth of food and begins to immediately tidy up, dust, do the laundry or rearrange the furniture.

**American Kids: Their dads always call before they come over to visit them and its usually only on special occasions.
**Italian Kids: Are not at all fazed when their dads come over, unannounced, on a Saturday morning at 8:00 and starts pruning the fruit trees. And if there are no fruit trees, he will plant some!

**American Parents: You can leave your kids with them and you always worry if everything is going to be ok plus you have to feed them after you pick them up.
**Italian Parents: No problem, leave your kids there and if they get out of line your parents can set them straight .... plus they get fed.

**American Kids: Always pay retail and look in the yellow pages when they need something done.
**Italian Kids: Just call their dad or uncle and ask for another dad's or uncle's phone number to get it done ....

**American Kids: Will come over for cake and coffee and get only cake and coffee, no more.
**Italian Kids: Will come over for cake and coffee and get antipasto, a few bottles of wine, a pasta dish, a choice of two meats, salad,  bread, potatoes a nice dessert cake, fruit, coffee and a few after dinner drinks ..... time permitting there will be a late lunch as well.

**American Kids: Think that being Italian is a great thing,
** Italian Kids: Know that being Italian is a great thing,

**American Kids: Never ask the reason you have no food.
** Italian Kids: Are the reason you have no food.

**American Kids: Will say 'hello".
** Italian Kids: Will give you a big hug and a kiss, pinch your cheeks, and pat you on the back.

**American Kids: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
** Italian Kids: Call your parents Mom and Dad.

**American Kids: Have never seen you cry.
**Italian Kids: Cry with you.

**American Kids: Will eat at your dinner table and leave.
** Italian Kids: Will spend hours there, talking, laughing and just being together.

** American Kids: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back.
** Italian Kids: Keep your stuff so long they forget it's yours.

**American Kids: Know a few things about you.
** Italian Kids: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.

**American Kids: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing.
**Italian Kids: Will kick the whole crowds' ass that left you.

**American Kids: Would knock on your door.
**Italian Kids: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!"

**American Kids: Are for a while.
** Italian Kids: Are for life.

**American Kids: Will ignore this.
**Italian Kids: Will forward this.

I was just checking out my sources about Big Brother and they said that because of the new show on CBS, "Pirate Master" Taking the Thursday 9:00 PM EST slot, they are most likely going to move the show up a day. So Big Brother fans will have a busy beginning of the week and a slow end. Sunday and Tuesday are not live shows but the Wednesday one is. Wed. is the eviction day.
