Could Birmingham bring another Idol? I doubt it.
31 January 07 01:08 AM | Zach | 2 comment(s)

The city that brought you Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice and Ruben Studdard, we are in Birmingham! A shocking 11,000 were ready to audition by 6:00 AM. I don’t think I would want to be waiting in line for an audition at 6:00 AM.

Auditions:

Audition 1: Plans on singing. Oook… She is singing Unchained Melody, which is a bad choice of song.

Singing – Well, she forgot the lyrics half way through. The singing was not that good anyways.

Audition 2: Katie Bernard. She does sound like a 3 year old. I hope sings well…

Singing – Wow, she sang really well! She reminds me of Paris Bennett from last season.

Audition 3: Titana from Atlanta. She only wants to sing, doesn’t want to do anything else. She’s going to have a boring life if she doesn’t make it then.

Singing – It was really good. Best voice so far.

Audition 4: Diana Walker works in child care. Woof, she is a bit big.

Singing – Standing O? What was that??? As the saying goes, don’t quit your day job.

Audition 5: He wants to be the next idol from Birmingham…

Singing – I thought it was a good one.

Audition 6: First, my eyes hurt from that shirt! And second, I have never seen a bigger gap between teeth.

Singing – Boring. SHE WAS 50! She lied to the producers!

Day 2 -- -- --

Audition 7: She is very southern. And if she wins, she is going to buy her grandma a new one floor house.

Singing – I agree with Simon and Paula and Randy. She needs some work, but will do good!

Audition 8: Chris Sly who thinks he looks like Christina Agularia. He wants to make David Hasselhoff cry.

Singing – I thought it was good. He needs some lessons, but with a bit time, he could fulfill his dream.

Audition 9: 6 feet of hair! They remind me of the two girls who were mother and daughter from before.

Singing – It was just ok for me. Not Hollywood worthy.

Audition 10: Lakia Hill

Singing – AHHHHH! That was bad!

Audition 11: Nichole has a team cheering for her. Maybe she can sing… Maybe not…

Singing – She is singing through her nose, not ready for this year, but maybe next year.

Audition 12: Brandy Patterson, her laugh is very annoying.

Singing – Very stuck up. I say, tone deaf.

1-29 Dish: Official Announcement of the Zach-Roast and SMBL!
30 January 07 12:00 AM | Zach | 4 comment(s)

The Dish has been a little infrequent lately, I know. An incident happened on Thursday that upset me a little, so I needed to take a few days off. I give thanks to scoutmom for posting the M & M show biz report. I wouldn’t have heard about it other wise. To start the dish off today, I thought I would announce a few new projects that will soon be spread around the Steeple.

The first annual Zach-Roast…

Yes, that’s correct, you get to Roast me! You can be as harsh as you want. The key thing is to make me laugh. The winner will be posted next week. You should have your roast line in by Friday at Midnight. You may only submit 1 (one) roast line. If you need more detail, email me at sm.TheDish@gmail.com

But wait, there’s more! The winner will receive an American Idol Cup! This is a must-have for any American Idol fan. This fountain-style, 24 oz. Coca-Cola cup features both Coca-Cola and American Idol branding and is made of bright red, durable plastic so you'll look stylish for a long time. (This will require shipping, so I will need your mailing address if you win. Also, no PO boxes.)

The first Steeple Media Biggest Loser Competition…

I wanted to wait until I actually had the prize at hand, then I would announce it. Introducing the Steeple Media Biggest Loser Competition!! (SMBL) SMBL will consist of up to 10 Steeplemedia members competing to see who can lose the most weight in 8 weeks. As some of you already know, I have started trying to lose weight. I do Tae Bo (almost) every day and try to run for 10 minutes once a week. I will not change my eating patterns for another week or two.

I think we will accept sign ups for the next two weeks. Be sure to sign up early to assure an audition! Only the top 50 applicants will get auditions. Email smbl2007@gmail.com to sign up. Be sure to include your Name, age, ideal weight to lose, why you should be interviewed for SMBL. I will be in this one with you guys (since I need to lose mad weight too) And fear not! You are not doing this for nothing!! The winner of this competition will win a $25 gift card to Amazon.com. (Prize subject to change)

Thanks for listening, now onto the dish!!

Brandy to be Charged With Vehicular Manslaughter?...

It has been recommended by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) that R&B singer/actress Brandy be charged with a misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence. Wow, that’s a mouthful.

The 28-year-old single mother was driving her Land Rover at 65 mph on the 405 Freeway on December 30 when she reportedly struck a 2005 Toyota that then hit a 1998 Toyota. The 2005 Toyota was hit by an Acura as it was stopping.

The Police to Reunite?...

I am in the “question headline” mood tonight I guess…

The Police may be planning a comeback tour beginning with an opening performance at the 2007 Grammy Awards next month.

It would be the threesome’s first public performance together since their 2003 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Although no official announcement has been made, various news web sites have said frontman Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stuart Copeland are practicing together in Vancouver, British Columbia. They can add steeplemedia to the list of ‘various news sites’ now.

J.Lo's Father is Member of the Church of Scientology...

Anyone out there in the Scientology religion?? I would like to ask what its like. Not saying I would convert though.

Jennifer Lopez has a Scientology secret - her father is a member of the church.

The singer/actress has repeatedly stated she has no plans to become a Scientologist, even though best pal Leah Remini and friends Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are members of the religious group.

The Salesman
29 January 07 07:04 PM | Zach | 3 comment(s)
The Salesman
A young guy from Nebraska moves to Florida and goes to a big "everything under one roof" department store looking for a job. The Manager says, "Do you have any sales experience?" The kid says, "Yeah, I was a salesman back in Omaha."

Well, the boss liked the kid and gave him the job. "You start tomorrow." I'll come down after we close and see how you did." His first day on the job was rough, but he got through it. After the store was locked up, the boss came down. "How many customers bought something from you today? The kid says, "One".

The boss says, "Just one? Our sales people average 20 to 30 customers a day. How much was the sale for?"

The kid says, "$101,237.65 ". The boss says, "$101,237.65? What the heck did you sell?"

The kid says, "First, I sold him a small fish hook. Then I sold him a medium fishhook. Then I sold him a larger fishhook. Then I sold him a new fishing rod. Then I asked him where he was going fishing and he said down the coast, so I told him he was going to need a boat, so we went down to the boat department and I sold him a twin engine Boston Whaler. Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took him down to the automotive department and sold him that 4x4 Expedition."

The boss said, "A guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him a BOAT and a TRUCK?"

The kid said, "No, the guy came in here to buy Tampons for his wife, and I said, 'Dude, your weekend's shot, you should go fishing.”

1-24 Dish: New York brought it
25 January 07 12:37 AM | Zach | 2 comment(s)

I didn't start this off very well before I posted it. You probably saw "Carole Bayer Sager" and were like "What is he talking about?" That was tonights guest judge in the wonderful city of New York! Here are my interpretations:

Audition 1: Ian performed on So you think you can dance. He’s a stuck up freak

Singing: He stunk! He really need to stop fighting with the judges. He had to be escorted out by Security.

Audition 2: She is from Ohio, and if she gets to Hollywood, I will be glad to see her there (just because she is from Ohio…) She has a sad story…

Singing: She was amazing. It was a different type of singing, but she is definitely going to Hollywood and possibly the finals.

Audition 3: Some lady from Grease…

            Singing: Was aweful!

Audition 4: She has made it to Hollywood 2 times before. Why does she need to come back?

Singing: I thought it was terrible. Hey Ashanti, hope you read this… CRY ME A RIVER, BUILD A BRIDGE and GET OVER IT. You stunk, take it, and do something else.

Audition 5: OMG BFF lol… This first BFF was singing first (obviously)

Singing: They are better separate than together. It was just ok for me. She needs to define yourself better.

Audition 6: BFF 2, the not trained one.

Singing: I liked it better than the first one. I would take the first girls ticket and rip it up.

Audition 7: Clifton Biddle… just your average Joe. Looks kinda boring. He’s #97 on his ticket tho…

            Singing: Uh… no. It stunk.

Audition 8: Kia, the last contestant of Day 1.

Singing: It was pretty good. I liked it better than Fantasia’s singing.

Day 2………………

Audition 9: Henry, 16. Was adopted.

Singing: not bad, not bad… I was glad he went to Hollywood

Audition 10: Weirdo! “lets see if they can recognize a star” lets see. (I think they already have)

Singing: The first song was really good, the second one… not so good. It was all over the place. She needs to get a bit of training, and she should retry next year.

Audition 11: She is the weirder one

Singing: Aweful! Off from the first note.  I cant even explain what’s wrong with that person

Audition 12: Simon decided to show up a bit late today

Singing: AWEFUL! WHY ARE YOU HERE?!?!

Audition 13: She lives in Canada? Why is she here?

            Singing: Speechless… it was awesome.

Audition 14: She put herself through Boot Camp to look good for the show. I would laugh if she didn’t make it.

Singing: She did something wrong in that performance, I cant put my finger on it. Guess shes goin to Hollywood.

Audition 15: Christopher Henry the “Simon Cowel” look alike.

Singing: Don’t sing an Idol song. BAD idea. Oh great, my ears are bleeding again. I will be right back…

Audition 16: Rachel, one thing to say to you. Just lost your full ride scholarship! Shouldn’t have tried out.

Singing: Stick to Opera. I don’t think she is qualified for the show.

Audition 17: Christopher singing  A song for you

Singing: Wow. Now I see the the Justin Timberlake in him.

Audition 18: Nick Pedro. Left the competition last year. Hopefully, makes it this year… (maybe).

Singing: It was really good. Glad to see him back in Hollywood.

Audition 19: Ok, I can read palms better than her. Just a bunch of lines.

Singing: Ryan was right, she can read palms as well as she can sing!

Congrats to 35 people that made it to Hollywood! See you next week for the Birmingham auditions on Tuesday.

Memphis wasn't that great either...
23 January 07 11:05 PM | Zach | 3 comment(s)

Tonight on Idol, they are heading Memphis. Surprisingly enough, almost everyone was in line to audition.

Audition 1: Sang “I heard it through the grape vine” I thought it went pretty well. He was too “over the top” I guess.

They had the whole marching band out there. I thought it was funny when Simon went out there and told everyone to shut up and Ryan’s comment to that…

Audition 2: Tomeka (spelling is off on that)… Not very interesting. Her eyes were a bit weird…

Singing: aweful! Why did she bother auditioning.

Audition 3: Chris. He was a bit weird…

Audition 4: DONKEY MOUTH. No…………………

Audition 5: Sundance, weird name but it is ok for a hippie name. His father was a singer way back when. Hopefully, he sings well.

Singing: WOW, that was incredible! My guess is he will be in the top 5 if not 10. According to Simon, “He just blew Taylor out of the park.” We have our new SOUL PATROL!

Audition 6: Wandera… does Simon do anything but chew a pen? She needs to work on some personality.

Audition 7: Travis who looks like Eddie Murphey.

Singing: He is very “emotional.”  Dim the lights and grab a lighter… Thought it was to be a slow song. He came in there crazy, like some animals were talking to him.

Audition 8: Danielle who reminds me of Kellie Pickler a bit.

Singing: Her singing reminds me more of Carrie Underwood. For once Simon agreed with Paula!

Day 2………

Audition 9: Tofur who wants to go out with Paula.

Singing: I didn’t think he could sing… so I didn’t get my hopes up.

Audition 10: Janita Burks, she needs to become a Janita since she cant sing. Worse than the last guy. Almost had a wardrobe malfunction.

Audition 11: Sean who is Osama in disguise. Wow, it was pretty good!

Audition 12: She was a bit nervous, Melinda Doolittle who belongs with Mr. Doolittle himself earlier…

Singing: For once in my life. She shouldn’t do background! She needs to be the main attraction! She will make it to the finals, guaranteed.

Audition 13: Buck toof who sounds like Elvis… lets see how it goes down…… He looked surprised and hes gonna trip over that lip!

Audition 14: This guy just heard from his wife that he is a new father. I agree that he can’t start his songs well… he needs to work on that.

22 more contestants made it to HOLLYWOOD today!! Congrats to all… See you tomorrow for the New York auditions! Good Night

Zach's Top 20 for January 2007
22 January 07 03:01 AM | Zach | 3 comment(s)

This is what I call “Zach’s Top 20.”  If you ever listen to Rick Dee’s Weekly top 40, it will be a little bit like that. Only, I will be posting about the 20 newest songs I added to my iPod. Since this is a monthly post, I wont have a lot of the newest songs out there, but they all are fairly current.

Disclaimer: I do not download any music from Lime wire, Ares, etc. All my music is downloaded from iTunes or purchased from a local Wal*mart retailer.

20: If Everyone Cared – Nickelback

This song has a wonderful video to it, really a great song if you listen to it. It is actually very inspiring. I didn’t put this one on my iPod at first because… well, I really don’t know why. It is an awesome song from Nickelback off of their latest album All the Right Reasons.

19: Through Glass – Stone Sour

I first heard this song while I was getting a hair cut a few weeks ago. I liked it so much, that I went home and bought the song off of iTunes.

18: World – Five for Fighting

A band named after a penalty in hockey (Five for Fighting) had recently released their latest album. I borrowed this album from a friend to listen to it and I put this song on my iPod mainly for the use of “Steeple” in it.

17: So Insane – Smash Mouth

This is the latest single from Smash Mouth. I heard it on the radio at about 2:00 in the morning when some jerk called my cell phone and woke me up for the morning. Don’t you hate when that happens?

16: It Ends Tonight – All-American Rejects

The “break-up” song of the year.  I think it is worthy of my iPod.

15: Welcome to the Black Parade – My Chemical Romance

I believe this is a new band. I have never heard anything from them before. It is a wonderful song, then again, I don’t add crappy songs to my iPod…

14: Can’t Let Go – Landon Pigg

His name might look funny, but he is good at singing. I said the same thing when I first heard his live perforamce on my radio station.

13: Fergilicious – Fergie/ Will.I.Am

Any Black Eyed Peas member song, I will add to my iPod. BEP is one of my favorite bands. The song isn’t that bad.

12: Irreplaceable – Beyonce

One of the only reasons that I added this song to my iPod was of the parody my radio station made of it about constipation. It is really funny and is a nice twist to that song.

11: Let Love In – Goo Goo Dolls

A rebuttal to the song “It ends tonight” thought it would go well with the other Goo Goo Dolls songs I have on there.

10: Hurt – Christina Aguilera

I don’t know, it’s just a really good, powerful song.

9: Steady as She Goes – Raconteurs

As if that band couldn’t pick something easy to spell… I need some upbeat songs in my mix, or else it makes daily routine a drag. Another song I heard on the radio…

8: Here in Your Arms – Hellogoodbye

Another song I heard while I was getting a hair cut. I don’t normally like techno, but this song fit my likings.

7: I’ll Never Be – Dane Cook

This comedian has released a single. So, I downloaded it and it sounded really good! According to Wikipedia (which was according to danecook.com) listeners are still curious whether this song is a joke or really serious. I hope they start playing it on the radio soon!

6: It’s Not Over – Daughtry

The season 4 ‘Idol’ contestant who didn’t want to win the show, now has the fastest selling Rock album ever made. It is a great song and I am also glad he did not win Idol. It wouldn’t be as good! And he sang the National Anthem today at the football game.

5: What Hurts the Most – Rascal Flatts

I can listen to the occasional country song and this one caught my ear one day.

4:  Lips of an Angel – Hinder

What can I say? Great song.

3: How to Save a Life – The Fray

The Fray reminded me of another band. But I cant put my finger on it. Let me know if you had that same wonder, then that would be cool!

2: Suddenly I see – KT Tunstall

Once again, these songs are not in any particular order, they are just in the order that I think of them.

1: Boston – Augustana

Just to finish the list off with a great ending…

What are some new songs you have added to your iPod or your cd collection lately? If you have any songs that you would think I would like, also add them to the comments and I will be sure to listen!

Well, I am sure you are all waiting for an excuse for not blogging that much over the past few weeks or so. If you take a good look at the blog, it now has a new design! Thanks to the Webmaster’s code skills, and my design software, I made a decent banner, and he made a nice skin for the blog, for all to enjoy during American Idol. I also have another treat tonight! My first top 20 post. Look for that in a little while!!

Justin Timberlake Celebrates Mother's Birthday…

Newly single Justin Timberlake partied with actresses Eva Longoria and Alyssa Milano into the early hours Saturday morning while celebrating his mother's birthday.

The pop superstar - who recently confirmed his split with his girlfriend of four years Cameron Diaz- attended the exclusive Jet nightclub at The Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada with his mother Lynn Harless, who turned 45 on Friday.

Oprah Opens Up About Pregnancy Story…

U.S. television star Oprah Winfrey says she took to her bed for days in 1990 after a relative told a tabloid that she had been pregnant as a teenager.

Writing in her O magazine, Winfrey said she had kept the matter a secret except for close friends and family members, one of whom spilled it for a $19,000 payoff.

If I was big with celebrities when that family member spilled the guts, I would have ranted on and on about it. That’s wrong to accept money to say something about your sibling or cousin or whatever relation they had.

Life comes at you fast…

The commercial that started it all.

I cannot recall how long ago this commercial came out, but this commercial was the first “Life comes at you fast” commercial. Then last year, Mc Hammer had a commercial with the same message.

Now this year during the Superbowl (Which scoutmom will cover at “Sports from the other side” blog) Kevin Federline will be in the latest spoof for Nationwide, and I will be sure to post it here after the “Big Game” (I forgot, I shouldn’t call it the “Superbowl” anymore) as well as the “best of” Big Game commercials!!

O.J. Simpson Ordered to Cut Spending…

OJ Simpson has been ordered to curb his spending to include only basic necessities, after claims the former footballer is in talks to negotiate another book deal.

He was issued the limited restraining order on Friday by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Gerald Rosenberg, after concerns were raised by the family of murder victim Ron Goldman. The ruling also restricts Simpson from spending any money earned from previous book, film and sports deals, and is effective until a February 20th hearing.

Simpson was set to publish his controversial book, "If I Did It", on November 30th, but his contract was terminated cancelled by News Corp head RUPERT MURDOCH ten days prior to publication.

He really wants people to know that he got away with his crime!! Dude, give it up!

Isaiah Washington: 'I Need Help'…

Star Isaiah Washington has accepted he needs help after "marring" his castmates' magical night at the Golden Globe Awards on Monday by using a gay slur in a press conference.

The actor grabbed the microphone in the press room, after picking up the Best TV Drama award with his co-stars, and attempted to address ongoing reports about his on-set fight with fellow TV surgeon Patrick Dempsey.

Last October's fight started after Washington called gay co-star T.R. Knight the 'f' word, with Knight coming clean about his sexuality following the incident.

Liza Minnelli and David Gest End Divorce Battle…

Liza Minnelli and David Gest's bitter divorce battle is over, with lawyers for the pair insisting they have come to an "amicable resolution."

Current legal disputes between the former couple have been dropped, with Gest's lawyer Susan Moss claiming the two will divorce "within the next few weeks" in Memphis, Tennessee.

And Minnelli's lawyer, Dorothy Weber, confirms "an amicable resolution to all outstanding matters" has been achieved.

Kevin Bacon Launches 'Six Degrees' Charity Site…

Actor Kevin Bacon and others launched SixDegrees.org, an online venture designed to create a charity social network and encourage online giving.

The venture is a partnership of the non-profit Network for Good, AOL and Entertainment Weekly, the organizations said in a news release.

The Web site is built around the game, "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon," in which players start with an actor's name, and then try to connect that actor with Bacon in six movie titles or fewer by naming a series of movie co-stars.

Is Seattle the worst place to find singers? I think so...
18 January 07 12:19 AM | Zach | 4 comment(s)

Well, they didn’t wait too long to get the show rolling. I watched and read a lot of information about the Seattle auditions. They were the strangest bunch of people the judges have ever seen! I expect to not have more than 20 make it to Hollywood. Here is my opinion.

Contestant 1: Brandon Groves, was the Sheriff last year. How he sang~ worse than last time.

Contestant 2: Jennifer ((wow she is ugly)). How she sang~ the worst audition so far this year. And what’s up with the moustache??

Contestant 3: She had a very nice story. If she can sing, she might make it far. How she sang~ I felt so bad!! She sang worse than the last guy. Cough cough, I mean girl. I hate to say it, but she should have listened to her husband… she cannot sing very well at all.

Contestant 4: Uh, the weirdo 29 year old who is here with her mom! And she thinks shes SEXY! Why did they let her in the room?!? How she sang~ Don’t Cha?!?! Not a good choice of song. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO! At least she wasn’t rude to the judges. I respect that.

Contestant 5: He is too stuck up. How he sang~ It was really good! I will be glad to see him back in Hollywood.

Contestant 6: I am not too happy about her look. Her head is too small for her body. How she sang~ It didn’t start off bad, but it ended that way.

Contestant 7: he’s good at beat boxing. How he sang~ Not bad. If he worked at his singing, he would be able to make it if he had more practice. It was good to see a Dad for once.

Contestant 8: Brother and sister decide to audition, separately but they are together. How she sang~ very well. I think she has potential.

Contestant 9: This is the brother… How he sang~ I think he is a lot better than his sister.

That’s gotta be one happy Dad.

Contestant 10: Nick, 27 software guy, who probably still lives with his mom… How he sang~ must I watch?? MAKE IT STOP, my ears are BLEEDING!!! Why do they let him keep going! I told them to stop him! It’s just not funny anymore…

Contestant 11: Rudy… He reminds me of the rockers from the past seasons a little bit. How he sang~ Really well! The BEST all day.

On day, 1, only 7 people made it to Hollywood.

Contestant 12: Kenneth… uh, weirdo? How he sang~ “I can’t take it anymore” haha. Hey frogger, Idol isn’t for you.

Contestant 13: Jonathon… needs to go back with his friend Kenneth. How he sang~ He was better than Kenneth… but not good enough at all.

Contestant 14: Eric, the Taylor Hicks look-alike. How he sang~ he sounded drunk to me! AND HE WANTED TO DO THE JUDGES HAIR! OUT!!

Contestant 15: Hey tall lady, what’s the air like up there?  How she sang~ Really well, but then again, it could be different at that altitude… I would hate to see Ryan have to introduce her on the show every week.

Contestant 16: Jordan, 16 and she looks older than me. How she sang~ very well for 16. I really liked it and cannot wait to see her again in Hollywood.

Contestant 17: Steven “stands out in a crowd”  How he sang~ This is the prefect performance to try not to laugh. I cant even do it. Way to high.

Next Tuesday, we are in Memphis and it doesn’t look so bad.

That’s it for tonight! I cannot wait til next time. I hope there are more good people in Memphis since we didn’t have too many tonight.

My end of the season predictions: A girl will win this year. (It is never too early to say how the show will end)

American Idol: Auditions 1
17 January 07 12:01 AM | Zach | 6 comment(s)

The scene is set.

The winner of American idol season 5 is …… Taylor Hicks!!

The crowed roars.

Together we have created a phenomenon

Together we have discovered wonderful stars.

And we are doing it all over again.

This year’s auditions brought record amounts of people to audition. Hundreds will make it to Hollywood but thousands will be sent home crying. We will journey together from 100,000 auditions to 1 American Idol.

I will blog here all the updates every American Idol show. Who will go to Hollywood? Who will be sent home? Who will be your next American Idol?

Ever since May of 2006, fans of the hit show American Idol have been waiting for this awesome night. The premier of another season of American Idol. Last year, I blogged about American Idol

Here is the information about the first Audition stop.  Minneapolis – 10,000 people auditioned. Jewel joined Randy, Paula, and Simon in the audition processes.

I will give you my opinions, and hopefully you will give me yours.

First Contestant for Season 6: I am not sure of her name. I don’t think she will make it. How she sang~…2 seconds in… don’t think so. That’s the worst thing to do to yourself. Sing a song written by the special guest. And she cries… but I laugh.

Second Contestant: Troy… just looks creepy. How he sang~ AHHHHHHH.

Third Contestants: Don’t sing something that an Idol sings. That’s just stupid.

Fourth Contestant: Didn’t catch his name How he sang~ Why do they let these people into the room. It’s just ridiculous. I mean it’s not even funny. Then he leaves to get water! And picks up where he left off when he gets back!

I do have to give Jewel respect for not even showing emotion.

Fifth Contestant: I am just going to say no now and call it a day. How he sang~ It wasn’t bad. But he wasn’t right for the show.

Sixth Contestant: Wow, has a sad story, fits past Idol qualities, and might have a chance. How she sang~ She kinda reminds me of Clay Aiken, she doesn’t look the part. Might have a chance… FIRST CONTESTANT OF SEASON 6 MADE IT!!!!!

Sixth Contestant: uh oh… where are the words??............... Oh sorry I fell asleep. It was quiet there for a few minutes.

Seventh Contestant: I think that this girl shouldn’t be allowed to audition. Espanol is a no no. And the flirting with Ryan shouldn’t be allowed either. I still say no. I hope she gets the boot early on.

Eighth Contestant: Kick em out. As simon would say “Dreadful”

I guess guys cant sing…

Ninth Contestant: bout time we had a good guy singer. One of my favorite country songs.

Tenth Contestant: Wizard of Oz girl. How she talked~ she didn’t really sing. Simon’s expression is the best ever.

Eleventh Contestant: Vocal teacher. How he sang~ My guess is bad. Vocal teachers cant ever sing…and I was right.

Twelfth Contestant: Michelle. How she sang~ better than most that walked thru those doors.

Thirteenth Contestant: I think her name was Donna. How she sang~ Aweful.

Fourteenth Contestant: Matt something. How he sang~ Actually pretty well, it was kinda sad not seeing his parents there with him. I say yes to Hollywood, even though my vote doesn’t matter yet.

Fifteenth Contestant: Army reserve Rachel How she sang~ the army always gives us nice singers for the show.

Sixteenth Contestant: Sara Krueger. How she sang~ Pretty god actually. I say yes.

Seventeenth Contestant: Juggler. How he sang~ Walked into the wrong room… He’s looking for the circus which was a few doors down.

Eighteenth Contestant: Breanne. How she sang~ BFF… lol. Help! I cant get up! ROFL. That was the worst audition so far today.

The Prince Montage was awesome.

Nineteenth Contestant: He was too fake. But he is determined. He was sent back out to learn an ABBA song. After 15 minutes, he came back and was still too fake. He does have a good personality.

After one LONG day of auditions, only 17 people made it to round 2. Only one person can win this competition and will they come from Minneapolis? Stay tuned to find out!

Let me know what you thought of the show.

As the premier of American Idol season 6 fast approaches, I thought I would post a nice video to get you geared up! Also, remember not to plan anything 20 minutes before the show, or during the show. Thats proper American Idol etiquette.

15 January 07 06:38 PM | Zach | 4 comment(s)
Wow, I have completely neglected the Dish for about a week now! I am really sorry! Life started to get really hectic and I couldn’t keep up. Plus I wanted to get some sleep in. I don’t have a lot to post about today but we will see how it goes. Tune in on Thursday for the top 5 anticipated movies of 2007

Tomorrow night, it all starts…

Starting tomorrow night, I will post about American Idol on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If I have time, I will also do a normal post. All I have to say is if you want to talk Idol, that’s fine, but if it has to do with anything else, I will be too busy for you.

The premier of season 6 starts tomorrow at 8:00 PM EST and ends at 10. Another episode will air the next day, same time. See you there! (A side note, if anyone who works for Idol and wants to get me a plane ticket, some tickets to the show, and a hotel room, I will gladly post from a hotel room in Hollywood.)

Slurring Paula Abdul Cancels Interviews…

Here is that video:

Singer-turned-American Idol judge Paula Abdul called off all her interviews Friday after clips of an earlier TV appearance appeared to show her drunk.

The video - in which Abdul slurs and bizarrely gestures - emerged on YouTube on Thursday, prompting speculation alcohol or medication were to blame.

She subsequently abandoned media engagements scheduled for Friday.

However, Abdul's spokesman Jeff Ballard insists tiredness and a minor throat infection, not inebriation, were the causes of the cancellations and earlier odd behavior.

Johnny Depp to Play Poisoned Ex-Spy?...

Johnny Depp is rumored to be starring in a new movie about poisoned ex-KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko, after Warner Bros. bought the film rights to a book on his murder.

Depp's production company Infinitum Nihil is to make the movie for Warner Bros. about poisoned ex-KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko, sparking rumors Depp himself will take the lead role.

Zach Braff: 'I'm Depressed'…

Scrubs star Zach Braff has opened up about his battle with depression in a magazine interview.

The actor, who recently split from pop star Mandy Moore, told Parade magazine he thinks he suffers from "mild depression."

Braff, who stars in the movie 'Garden State,' admits his fans have helped him come to terms with his mood swings.

The pair began dating in April 2003 after meeting at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

According to website TMZ.com, the pair issued a joint statement late yesterday announcing they have officially split, saying, "It has always been our preference not to comment on the status of our relationship, but, out of respect for the time we've spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in light of recent speculation and the number of inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media."

Madonna Pokes Fun at Britney's No-Undies Controversy…

Madonna poked fun at former pal Britney Spears for partying without her underwear on TV Thursday night, calling the daring trend "dreadful."
The pop superstar, who once bared all for her controversial "Sex" book, told late night TV host David Letterman she was shocked by stories of party girls hitting the town without their underwear, and urged the broadcaster to send Spears a pair of hers.

All I have to say is HAHAHAHA.
