11-10 Dish: Death of Jack Palance
Hey everyone, Its FRIDAY!! This week was very long and I am
very excited that it is over. Before I go to bed, I thought I would make a dish
for you.
This week’s movie releases…
The Return
Rated: PG-13 for violence, terror and
disturbing images
The story follows a tough, successful saleswoman whose vivid
nightmares drive her to investigate the mysterious death of another young woman
25 years earlier.
Harsh Times
Rated: R for strong violence, language and drug
use
The film stars Christian Bale ("Batman Begins") as
an ex-Army Ranger who finds himself slipping back into his old life of petty
crime after a job offer from the LAPD evaporates.
A Good Year
Rated: PG-13 for language and some sexual content
Based on the novel by Peter Mayle, the film is about failed London banker Max Skinner (Crowe) who moves to Provence to tend a
vineyard he inherited from his uncle, played by Albert Finney. There he
encounters Cotillard's character, a beautiful California woman who says she is a long-lost
cousin and lays claim to the property.
Stranger than Fiction
Rated: PG-13 for some disturbing images,
sexuality, brief language and nudity
In "Stranger Than Fiction," Will Ferrell plays
Harold Crick, an IRS Agent whose world is turned upside-down when he begins to
hear his life being chronicled by a narrator only he can hear. The Narrator,
Kay Eiffel (Emma Thompson), a nearly forgotten author of tragic novels, is
struggling to complete her latest and best book, unaware that her protagonist
is alive and uncontrollably guided by her words. Fiction and reality collide
when the bewildered and hilariously resistant Harold hears the Narrator say
that events have been set in motion that will lead to his imminent death.
In other news…
I swear, all I have heard about in celebrity news is divorce
and death.
Actor Jack Palance
Dead at 87…
Jack Palance, one of the great bad guys of Hollywood
Westerns, died Friday at the age of 87 at his daughter's home in California.
Palance had been in failing health for some time, the Los
Angeles Times reported.
Kellie Pickler ‘picks’
a new career…
Pickler will play a naive small-town Southern girl, a
character based on herself, who discovers her biological father is the state's
well-respected governor.
His presidential dreams are put in jeopardy, but the two
form a father-daughter relationship that ends up helping his standing in the
polls.
"Borat"
Bosses Sued by College Students…
Borat sounds stupider than Napoleon Dynamite.
Two college students are suing the movie bosses behind
British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's hit film 'Borat: Cultural Learnings of
America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan' for making them look
stupid on camera.
The two men, referred to as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2,
insist Cohen assured them his movie would not be shown in the U.S. and they
agreed to take part in a skit.
