Fit Club: June 24

Just a couple things for you today.

First off, I have set a couple more goals than the "required" 5. Here they are:

6. Dont eat any evening snacks.

and

7. Keep a photo Journal of what I eat in the forums.

So, starting today at lunchtime, I will take a picture of what I ate and post it in the forums. I will photograph EvErYtHiNg I eat... I've seen people do this and it works for them. I actually forgot to take a picture of breakfast lol.

If you want to set more than that minimum of 5 goals, go ahead! Hopefully I will email everyone tonight and get point allocations to them. I was really busy yesterday. But the new tile floor is in :) looks soo nice Smile

Friendly Fit Club Reminder!

This is just a reminder that it is Week 1 of the NEW Fit Club. I hope to see everyone's goals today so I can tell you how to allocate points. You can email or post your goals but today is the final deadline (unless I already talked to you or know where you are).

Have a nice day everyone!

Fit Club Goals

My main goal is to make all these goals.

Here are my goals for Fit Club.

2. Make 1 healthy choice a day

3.Do "trunk" exercises 20 minutes a day

4. Pedometer - 60,000 steps a week

5. Eat a serving of fruits and vegetables each day

 Good luck to all!

The Brand New Fit Club

The program is an 8 week program but can change. I decided to lower the number of weeks because we were almost half way through the last “version” of Fit Club and just want to give this one a go.

GOALS

Your task this week is to pick out some goals that you wish to keep up with. You need to have 5 goals. Goals can be anything fitness related, for instance: “My goal is to reach 5000 steps before lunch time” or “My goal is to eat some sort of salad for lunch every day” or even “My goal is to take a hike once a week.” You will also set a 6th goal between you and your Fit Partner.

These are YOUR goals.

You can also change your goals. For instance if your goal is 30 minutes of exercise a day and you want to up your goals, you can! Just email me and it’s changed. So your new goal could be (to keep up with the example…) 45 minutes. You cannot change your goals more than once a week.

I can also suggest a change in your goals but you do not have to take my suggestion.

WEEK OUTLINE

Week 1- Pick your goals. You must blog about your goals.

Week 2-7- Once a week, you will email in and report on your goals. You also can attend the Steeple Media Fit Club Fit Show to earn extra points and many other VERY cool prizes!

Week 8- Follow-up journal – all contestants must write a blog post about the experience.

POINT SYSTEM

I’m not 100% sure how points will be awarded yet. I think I will make that decision after everyone makes their goals. I may base points off of your individual goals. Remember, you only have to report on 6 days a week (The weekend still includes a “day off”)

REPORTING

Later this week, I will post a sample email for you to see how your email to me should look like.

One question you will be asking yourself is “Do you deserve a bonus this week?” and have to explain to me why you deserve the bonus and the amount.

Just like any other thing you do, Fit Club has some rules…

1. Anyone can enter over the age of 13. To receive a prize, you must reside in the United States.
2. Prizes are to be determined and also how to win is to be determined.

Any contestant is eligible to win one or all prizes as long as they register by entry date. Any data submitted on the form over the course of the 10 weeks will be used and counted as a submission.

3. Any data submitted may be published, along with name/pseudonym of your choice.
4. This contest is 100% HONOR based.
5. This is NOT a weight loss program. I will not ask your weight at any time. However, if you would like to record your weight changes over the course of the program, you are welcome to do so and to share those results with us.
6. All contestants must complete a registration questionaire and must agree to publish ONE final blog post in week 10 describing their experience. The post should be a minimum of 150 words. I will also ask 1-2 members a week to post their progress. That post should also be a minimum of 150 words.
7. You should NOT undertake this program without a doctor's consent if you can say YES to any of the pre-registration questions.
8. Neither I nor SteepleMedia can be held responsible for any injury resulting from taking part in this program. If you do take part, it is at your own risk and it is presumed you have your physician's approval if needed.

So, Please get “Goal posting!” If you are reading this and are not a member of Fit Club, email zach@steeplemedia.com and I will give you a questionnaire to fill out.

June 4: Week 3 contest winners and Week 4 contest!

Last week we had a total of 130,038 steps! The top 3 will be announced during the Fit Show TOMORROW NIGHT starting at 8:30 PM EDT Smile

Alright Week 4 contest... I had a hard time thinking of something for you to do this week.  But I think I may have thought of something... Lets see how this goes...

First off, keep sending in PEDO readings daily! We're trying to hit 1 million steps!!!

This week, I want you to try a new exercise every day. For instance... I recently got the Bean (see this Friday's post Wink ) and I've been trying all sorts of new exercises on that. For instance... wall squats with that are a doosey... the pushups arent the easiest either! But its a lot of fun :)

I will try and remind you each day about these exercises :)

June 3: Week 3 baseline results!!

Alright, the baseline competition is heating up so I am doing things a little different.  I'm going to use the same scale Sandi used at the end of the last fit club.

June 3: Week 3 results!!!

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the delay here... I've been uber busy with work and I dont get much time to do much else. Without further adieu, here are the placements for Week 3!

Contestant 4 - 44307

Contestant 3 - 51212

Contestant 4 (in third place) earns 3 raffle tickets is OLDJERSEYGIRL!!! Contestant 3 (in second place) earns 5 raffle tickets is SCOUTMOM. And in 1st place earning 10 raffle tickets as well as a free pass is.................. JOJO31!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!

Also, since none of you used your free passes this week, I have added 1000 bonus points to your Week 4 total.

OK, Raffle tickets... There are quite a few ways to earn these. Now that we're through the beginnings of Fit Club, there are going to start being MORE raffles Smile

You can earn raffle tickets by...

  • Being in the top 3 weekly point results.
  • Winning in the weekly contest
  • Winning during the Fit Show
  • Having your baseline at the top (earns 2 tickets)
  • Commenting on the blog gets you 1 ticket each comment
  • Blogging unexpectedly gets you 2 tickets

That about sums up ways to earn tickets. YES, I know its a ton of different ways but it gives you more of a chance at winning some nice prizes!!! I may have enough prizes now to go 1 raffle a week. Or at least every other week...

Stay tuned for the baseline results and this weeks contest!!

Motivation? I'll try...

Sorry this post is late...I did spend 40 minutes typing one up the other day and then...it went poof in the matter of seconds. I was so upset I nearly tossed my pc through the wall or something. I got up and walked away and then got so busy that I forgot all about it..lol Sorry!!!

I am a very busy mother of four that often times gets caught up way too much in the stress of her own life. I forget sometimes that I have to look out for myself as much as I do the boys. I just turned 32 over the weekend and am not so much loving getting older and having more struggles in getting rid of the weight. Alright, so I'm supposed to let ya know what motivates me..but I am really not sure myself. I guess I am motivated to wear the new bathing suits I bought..but that is just a start. I guess I am really just afraid of being fat once again! At one point in time when my life was a miserable mess, I found myself weighing in at 198 lbs..that's not so easy to hide when ya only stand five foot tall. I was mortified really. Now every time I look in the mirror, that girl is all I see. A swollen faced cabbage patch looking thing that is just miserable as all get out.

I did finally get a hold on my weight. I kept it at 98 lbs, and was blissfully happy..Then I had my last baby. It got a bit tougher, but I still maintained! This last thing though..I broke my ankle...I was down for two months.. that just did m in. It did nothing for my butt! lol I think the dern thing now needs it's own zip code. I just wanna get a hold on it again and I wanna be happy. One never really understands what a bearing their appearance has on the way they feel entirely but it really does!

My goal here is to get fit, so I know I will be around for my boys and hopefully grandkids someday etc. I wanna get control over my weight and I just want a refreshed perspective on life. I look forward to getting to know all of you in the process. I am really enjoying this fit club because it really makes me feel less alone in all of this. I appreciate all of you and the support in going through the motions.

I hope this works and wasn't a complete disappointment for everyone to read.
