Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!!
Are you an exercise fanatic? Are you a total health nut? Is fitness your life? Then go away, I’m not talking to you.
No, I’m talking to all the rest of the schmucks out there who, like me, have the best of intentions but not the best actions. The ones who think eating a Baskin Robbins' sundae qualifies for meeting your daily requirement of dairy products; who feel that if you’re eating off your kids' plate, the calories don’t count; who know that just as soon as the game is over, you’re going to get up and start your workout.
Now is your chance to join Fit Club 2, have fun, maybe win a prize and make a few changes that will help you get your life, your body and your health in shape. Plus, enjoy the fame and fortune of being featured on Steeple as one of those who has actually taken the next step. Yes, you too can be a hero amongst your mass of adoring fans, who will post words of encouragement as you… (oh, wait, cue the theme from Rocky)…as you bravely work towards your long and short term goals, striving to become the best of the best, working your abs and whatever off, making the right choices until one day, you, yes YOU are crowned… Oh, who am I kidding…kill the music…. Okay, so it’s not that dramatic, but it IS a lot of fun. And now is the time to think about joining; now is the time to become one of the few, the proud, the Steeple Fit!

Steeple Media Fitness
Club 2 (SFC2) Official Rules
Steeple Media Fitness Club 2 (SFC2) is a non-profit program
sponsored by www.steeplemedia.com
(other sponsors to be announced) in hopes to help (TBA amount of) contestants
get in shape and live a healthier lifestyle. This competition will take place
in the months of September to the end of December. The competition will end
after 12 consecutive weeks of fitness competition. Zach, blogger for The Dish
and SFC1, and Scoutmom, blogger for Sports From the Other Side and SFC1 member,
will host this season. The contestants will train by themselves each week and
will compete in an endurance competition each week. The contestant(s) that win
the endurance competition will earn points. The contestant with the most points
at the end of the 12 weeks will be crowned the winner of Steeple Media Fitness
Club 2. The grand prize is yet to be determined. Everything is explained in
more detail below.
How to enter
To become eligible for this competition, fill out this
application and either mail it to:

Please have the mailed applications in the mail by September 15 or the emailed application
in before September 20, 2007. The contestant may own a working camera
(preferably digital), a scale, and any other props that they feel are necessary
to compete in the competitions. The first one hundred (100) applicants will be
reviewed for the competition and the top (number of contestants TBA) will be
selected for the competition. All other applicants will be numbered and will be
kept in consideration in case a selected contestant drops out.
In order to enter, the applicants must be eighteen (18) to
sixty-five (65) years of age on or before the date of entry. The applicant must
have also submitted a complete application with signature. It is suggested that
the contestants have some of the following in order to train for the endurance
competitions that will be completed each week: a stop watch, a TV with cable
(to access the FitTV channel), a treadmill or any other exercise equipment, a
scale, a music playing device, etc.
How to participate
First, be selected to participate after completing the
application. Then you will train yourself at home or at your local gym for a
weekly endurance competition which can also be completed at home. After
completing the competition, you will email the results to SMFitClub@yahoo.com and the results will
be posted on SteepleMedia.com at the end of the week. The contestants are also
asked to write a weekly “diary” entry on the blog at SteepleMedia.com talking
about what they are doing to “get fit.”
Note: Steeple Media is not responsible or liable for any injury of any
contestant. These contestants have willingly signed up for this competition.
Monday or Tuesday of each week, the contestants will receive
an email containing the instructions of that week’s endurance competition. They
are expected to complete the competition by Wednesday Evening at 8:00 PM EDT.
Contestant, this week you are to do as many pushups as you possibly can without
stopping. Attached is the beat you are wished to complete the pushups. If you
mess up two (2) times, please stop counting pushups as you are finished. Email
the number of pushups you completed before the deadline.
Before the contestants complete the competition, the Hosts
will decide on a number of pushups that will be considered the “cut off line.”
Anyone over the cut off line will earn a point. Anyone under will stay at their
previous point level. If everyone is over the cut off line, then everyone gets
a point. If no one is over the cut off line, then no one gets a point. The
person(s) who have the highest amount of points at the end of the twelve (12)
weeks will be crowned the winner of Steeple Media Fitness Club 2.
In the event of a tie, the tied contestants will partake in
a thirteenth (13th) week of competition. The person with the winning
score will earn the point. In the event of another tie, the process will
continue in a fourteenth (14th) week and so on.
Please note that the endurance competitions will not be the
only way to earn points. Expect the unexpected.
Blogging or Diary
The hosts of the program will be posting results of the
competitions and anything else about them. The contestants are not allowed to
release times or number of pushups to any other contestant, any reader or in a
blog post. The contestants, however, can react in a diary post after the
results are up.
The weekly diary entry is suggested to include a sample diet
plan, types of exercise the contestant is currently working on, what the
contestant feels the endurance competition may consist of, and how they feel
the competition has affected them thus far. The last post should include how
SFC2 changed you physically and mentally about exercise.
This contest is not only built to show readers how exercise
helps in the process of becoming physically fit, but to show other readers how
easy it is (or how hard it is) to become physically fit. The winner of SFC2
will win a prize which is yet to be determined. Depending on how well this goes
over at SteepleMedia.com, we may have another fit club next year. Finally
Steeple Media would like to keep in touch with the contestants of the Fitness
club so further diary entries are accepted.
