Super Bowl...errr...NFL Championship Game Contest

Published 23 January 08 04:16 PM | scoutmom

Since I don't want to break any rules, and since I don't have permission to call this a "Super Bowl Contest" from the NFL, I will have to refer to it this as the "Scoutmom's Sports From The Other Side Who Will Win The NFL Championship Game" Contest.

That's right!  You have a chance to win a personalized mousepad  (brought to you courtesy of aislin123!)  How do you play?  Well, I'm glad you asked, (wouldn't want to be rude and just TELL you if ya didn't want to know!)

All you have to do is guess the winner and the score of the Super...um...you know, the big football game on Sunday, February 3rd.  Just send me an email -- with your predictions in the subject -- no later than 12:00 NOON on Feb. 3rd.  If more than one person submits the same winners/score, the earliest electronic postmark will determine the winner.

In the meantime, why not share what you plan to do the day of the big game!

Good luck, and good guessing!

Oh goody, as soon as I consult my experts, I will email you my prediction.

We will be enjoying lots of family time with my daughter, home from Iraq for a couple of weeks and my son, visiting from California. I am sure lots of food will be prepared, eaten, and gossiped over. There may be a few beers and an occasional cuss word from the men, and I expect lots of LOUD cheering and/or complaining from all.

How about you Scoutmom?

Gee... can I send more than one??? hee hee...  I'll be at my Mom and Dad's (bigger TV) yelling at the refs and stuffing my face!!!  (But not at the same time, that would just be rude) I am pretty sure that we will all be cheering for the Giants.  Except for my oldest daughter, who will be cheering for the Colts.  And yes we know they are not in the "Big Game"!!! She just loves the Colts.  For food... I am thinking artichoke dip (yum), cheese fries (really yum) aaaand... not sure what else!  I think I'll hang out around here for suggestions!!

Since the Packers lost, this will be much easier.  :(  I too will be watching, yelling and munching.

It is GREAT to hear your daughter is home Fleur!!

Scoutmom, I know you do not post about Indy racing but I was shocked to see that Franchitti (pardon my spelling) is leaving Indy to go to Nascar.  Were the Nascar fans as unreceptive to him as to Montoya?

He will have to earn his respect.  Hopefully, he will have learned from Montoya's reception and not be quite so cocky!!!

Just to let you know what we do - we like to munch away and enjoy...the commercials!  I was very disappointed to hear that they are not expecting anything outstanding this year as far as they go.  Sometimes, they are better than the game.

So, uh, where are the food suggestions???  I need some help here!

# scoutmom said on January 24, 2008 06:58 PM:

Food suggestions?

Chicken wings and ranch dressing, cheese and crackers, mini egg rolls...how's that for starters?

And for dessert - how about some cheesecake!

Don't worry... I'll devote some time to posting some easy recipes next week.  I can't list things very well, though... my computer won't let me return to a new line.  It all bunches up.  But if it is an easy dish, it won't matter... much!
