Indians Can't Quite Pull it Off, Red Sox to Face Rockies for World Series
I'm gonna need your help on this one, folks!
Faced with a "do-or-die" situation in Game 7 of the ALCS the
Cleveland Indians unfortunately didn't survive.
I had high hopes for the Tribe, as did their legion of fans, but they
just couldn't quite pull it off.
Bummer. Seriously! I had the opportunity early in the season to
see them play against the team with the worst name in baseball (The Anaheim
Angels of Los Angels or some such thing) when bad weather forced the game out
of Cleveland. Great team, great fans. Not that I'm saying the Boston Red Sox aren't
a good team, or that their fans aren't great, I just don't have any personal
experience.
Of course, seeing that I was born in a small town just
outside of Boston,
I suppose I could throw my allegiance behind them for the World Series. It's either the BoSox, who have obviously
been successful in removing the Bambino's curse, or the Colorado Rockies.
What do the Rockies have
going for them? Well, first of all the
poor schmucks are faced with indoor practice due to snowstorms. Sounds like Chicago for opening day. And I used to like John Denver's music. You know, "Rocky
Mountain high, Colorado".
Haha, bet you get that song stuck in your head all day! My son is an avid Rockies
fan, so there's that. No clue where that
came from. Nor do I know why he's a
Broncos fan, but I digress.
It's decision time, folks.
Do I root for the Red Sox, who are actually favored to win the Series,
even though they bumped off my ‘adopted' team the Indians? Or do I root for my son's favorite Rockies, who managed to stomp all over the Arizona
Diamondbacks (who beat my beloved Cubs)?
Do I root for the guys whose emblem is basically laundry, or the ones
who make me think of heading to the fridge for a Coors Light? Help!!!
I can't decide!!!
