About Sports From The Other Side

This blog is my view of sports.  You won't see a lot of basketball (unless perhaps it involves the Marquette Golden Warriors.  Whoops...I mean, Eagles).  There also isn't going to be a huge focus on the Indy Racing League, bowling or billiards.  What I do hope to bring you is my perspective on baseball, football, NASCAR, steroids, overpaid athletes, some soccer and occasionally golf, hockey and maybe lacrosse or tennis.  If I've missed or dissed your sport, let me know and give me a reason to add it to my list.

To give you a little background about myself, I officially joined the Steeple Community in August of 2006, although I lurked around the fringes for awhile before that.  I now live behind the Cheddar Curtain, but I grew up as and remain a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears.  In my househould, we are multi-dimensional when it comes to sports teams.  We root for Da Bears, the Pack, Broncos and Bengals (kids, go figure!). We like the Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds and occasionally the White Sox (but NEVER, NEVER EVER the St. Louis Cardinals).  I coached youth soccer for six years, so we like the Chicago Fire, but will never understand the salary now being paid to Beckham.  I have a son who played hockey, so it's the Wolves, Admirals and Blackhawks when we get a chance.

If you like what I write, let me know.  If you don't, let me know that, too.  I welcome your thoughts and opinions on my views of the world of sports.
