Just a little something to make y'all laugh today. Hope everyone has a great weekend!! http://flyderrie-air.com/
Contemporary Christian Artist, Steven Curtis Chapman's 5 year old daughter was killed Wednesday. Her older brother was driving an SUV in the driveway and accidentally struck her. My heart and prayers go to the family especially the son who was driving. As a parent, I cannot imagine the pain this must bring. As a sister, I know the doors of guilt that would open would be entirely overwhelming.
I found this today. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/05/new-patriotic-o.html Kinda funny till I found this: http://www.infoplease.com/askeds/islamic-states.html
Not feeling good today, this is all I have: http://www.tothepointnews.com/content/view/3114/85/
Once again, it's up to me, Fluffy Cow, to cover the week in Steeple! (Oh boy!) Fleur has received wonderful news about her daughter coming home and is now wearing down a 4 foot track in her floor pacing till the arrival. All Fit club members have gone into withdrawals and are hiding in dark rooms randomly sending out emails about how many one legged pistol squats they can do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGWHDW9axmY (BTW- that would be my trainer dude. See why I work out??) Wesley was last seen posting to himself in the forums about the benefits of using the word 'Thy' in everyday conversations. Joe and B8 are scheduling a duel that will involve wet noodles, and I... well... I have had a Fit Club relapse and am baking my 2nd cheesecake in 24 hrs!!! Have a great weekend, pet a dog, wash pollen off of something, hug someone and smile all the time!!!!
Ok, it's Friday. No one has been posting around here, so I thought I'd just cover everyone's post in here!!! Sooooo..... the Week in Weird-iFriday-2.0: Weather is good. Pollen is baaaaad. Everyone is working too hard!!! Fit club is almost over, Zach is down to a 22" waist and Flannelman found the time in his busy schedule to bench press a refrigerator 375 times. BJnotBK has been lost at sea and Joe was attacked by a vicious squirrel. Sandi finally won "The big one" and has left us all for Tahiti. Scoutmom is locked in a dungeon being forced to predict every sports score for the next three years. Fleur is in a mad rush to prepare for her daughter's homecoming and Krupo is on a well deserved vacation. (Wish I was...) SO! Get outside, read a book, go for a drive and camp out. Unless it's raining! Passover begins this weekend and Earth day is.... well... never mind. Have an amazing weekend and see ya'll later!!!!!!!
I heard some info today that promptly got me Googling. As it turns out, there seems to be some truth to a possible trucker strike beginning on April 1, 2008. With rising gas prices etc. the drivers are getting out the word to strike or slow down. While I cannot guarantee if it will happen or not, it may be wise to consider stocking up on certain essentials and such. Having lived in Florida, I remember many times preparing for hurricanes that (thankfully) never came. But it only takes one time to devastate the people. So, search around for yourself and decide what you think is best, but since I had not seen anything in the mainstream news, I just thought I'd share!
Has anyone heard anything yet??????????

Avast ye maties!! Seemin' as how the official Talk Like A Pirate Day be a long voyage off, I be in eternal gratitude to BJnotBK fer suggestin' we have a little pirate invasion TODAY! I don't know about you scurvy dogs, but I be lettin' loose of a large amount of pent-up pirate speak! If ye be feelin' the need to vent a little yerself, let fly in here!!
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
Whoo Hoo! For the first time since we moved to NC (2 1/2 years ago) WE HAVE SNOW!!! About 3-4 inches! I know, I know, not that exciting you all of you in the north. But this is the first time my kids have been able to go out and sled down the hill in out front yard (very fun) and build a snowman!!! Ok, so maybe I built most of the snow man... but they decorated it and made snow angels! Since this area does not usually get a lot of the white stuff, everything pretty much shuts down. So... break out the Uno cards, get a cup of hot chocolate, and even if you have no snow... take a snow day with us!!!
No games today, but please come visit the Son of Liberty forum and go to the Project American Warrior thread for all the details!
Drumroll please... Coming closest to the actual number, which was 2, is ... with a guess of 4... is... Fleur!!!!!!!! An honorable mention to Scoutmom for realizing that other stores would cut down on the "extra items"! So today the recent issue of TurboTax ended up on my cart as well as a bag of very tasty tortilla chips. (I love the samples in the store!) Extra credit also to Fleur for correctly predicting the chocolate spice cookie mix for the kids( from World Market) and the bubble bath (from Whole Foods)!!! Actually I was really excited to get home to see if anyone played along with me today. Thanks for making me a happy cow!!!
I have a minute or two before I am off to get ready to go to... COSTCO!!!!!! The closest one to me is about an hour away, so these trips are timed and planned carefully (we do NOT want to run out of paper plates). My Mom and I will head out at 9:00 am, hit a little bit of civilization (shopping of course) and then, oh rapturous joy, Costco! So now here is why I am sharing this with you. While I am gone (which will pretty much be all day) you all can have a little fun in here. See, I have a list of what we actually NEED from Costco... your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to guess how many "off list" items will I return with! Of COURSE I'll find something NOT on my list... that's a given. So have fun, guess away, and I'll report back later!
Since I seem to have taken over this blog space anyway... hee hee. I thought I'd start posting about food and recipes! I know there was a section in Steeple Media for that (once upon a time), but I don't feel like looking for it, and this is much easier!!!
SO... if you all wouldn't mind, let me know what kind of food topics and recipes you might like to see. I will be posting my stuffed shell recipe later today or tomorrow... excellent use for leftover turkey and stuffing. I may even post our Thanksgiving menu, and would love to see some of your ideas.
I'll try to keep up with what you all want, and what I like! I hope it will be fun.
