Avast ye maties!! Seemin' as how the official Talk Like A Pirate Day be a long voyage off, I be in eternal gratitude to BJnotBK fer suggestin' we have a little pirate invasion TODAY! I don't know about you scurvy dogs, but I be lettin' loose of a large amount of pent-up pirate speak! If ye be feelin' the need to vent a little yerself, let fly in here!!
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
Whoo Hoo! For the first time since we moved to NC (2 1/2 years ago) WE HAVE SNOW!!! About 3-4 inches! I know, I know, not that exciting you all of you in the north. But this is the first time my kids have been able to go out and sled down the hill in out front yard (very fun) and build a snowman!!! Ok, so maybe I built most of the snow man... but they decorated it and made snow angels! Since this area does not usually get a lot of the white stuff, everything pretty much shuts down. So... break out the Uno cards, get a cup of hot chocolate, and even if you have no snow... take a snow day with us!!!
No games today, but please come visit the Son of Liberty forum and go to the Project American Warrior thread for all the details!
Drumroll please... Coming closest to the actual number, which was 2, is ... with a guess of 4... is... Fleur!!!!!!!! An honorable mention to Scoutmom for realizing that other stores would cut down on the "extra items"! So today the recent issue of TurboTax ended up on my cart as well as a bag of very tasty tortilla chips. (I love the samples in the store!) Extra credit also to Fleur for correctly predicting the chocolate spice cookie mix for the kids( from World Market) and the bubble bath (from Whole Foods)!!! Actually I was really excited to get home to see if anyone played along with me today. Thanks for making me a happy cow!!!
I have a minute or two before I am off to get ready to go to... COSTCO!!!!!! The closest one to me is about an hour away, so these trips are timed and planned carefully (we do NOT want to run out of paper plates). My Mom and I will head out at 9:00 am, hit a little bit of civilization (shopping of course) and then, oh rapturous joy, Costco! So now here is why I am sharing this with you. While I am gone (which will pretty much be all day) you all can have a little fun in here. See, I have a list of what we actually NEED from Costco... your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to guess how many "off list" items will I return with! Of COURSE I'll find something NOT on my list... that's a given. So have fun, guess away, and I'll report back later!
