Melee Devils and Angels, 2007

Melee are an American Pop Rock Music group from Orange County, CA.
The band consists of Chris Cron (vocals, keyboard, guitar), Ricky Sand (guitar, vocals), Ryan Malloy (bass, vocals) and Mike Nader (drums)
If you like Coldplay or the Verve you will probably like these guys - the sound is very similar, but Melee seems to feature the piano sound more, which I love.
Devils & Angels is their second album which was released in 2007. They actually self released 3 singles before they got picked up by Sub City Records Hopeless Records, and then subsequently by Warner Bros. Records. They also made several videos themselves before they were signed - you can see those on their myspace page.
Track Listing
1. Built To Last
Begins full of power an emotion and stays strong throughout. A delightful love song.
Lead singer's voice is impeccable.
2. Rhythm Of Rain
Sweet, not as powerful as the first track, but very lyrical and pleasant
3. Frequently Baby (She's A Teenage Maniac)
You will be jumping up and down to this one! Fun and lively!
4. For A Lifetime
Easy to listen to as the others, but not quite as memorable. The Devils and Angels reference from the title is in this song.
5. Drive Away
They never fail to pump it up for the chorus. I really like the chorus - the rest I would prefer to be a bit more amped up.
6. Can't Hold On
Gorgeous ballad - the power shines through again with this one. You really can't listen to these on low volume!
7. Imitation
Another sweet love song. Put it on the mix tape for date night
8. Love Carries On
Lead singer just hits all of those notes so clearly and precisely. Not my most favorite song, but the vocals are always impressive.
9. She's Gonna Find Me Here
Better get the tissues out for this one - it will pull at your heart strings. The piano is just gorgeous.
10. Biggest Mistake
Fun chorus! Not a love song this time! Quite funny actually, and very catchy.
11. You Got
This one turns up the rock a notch and is rather funky!
12. Stand Up (Album Version)
Another moving ballad about finding your feet again after a break up.
13. You Make My Dreams (Album Version)
This is a cover of a Hall and Oates song an it is SUPER fun! A real feel good, light hearted pop song.
My faves would have to be tracks 1, 3, 12 and 13
