Below is the gateway to watch the next episode of SMT10! The show will start at 9:00 PM EDT Promptly!
See you live in a bit!
Hiya All! I'm sure everyone wondered what happened to the Top 100 post this week. Well, I apologize as I am in the midst of moving and well, I noticed at the same time that our chart never changed. lol Came to find out after investigating, it hasn't changed at all since May. So, after looking around I did find a new chart. This one updates every week! I hope you all enjoy it as I did! =) There is a little something for everyone!
This week, I wanna spotlight the #20 song-I Am Your Gummy Bear (The Gummy Bear song) This song is awesome! Like Psycho Teddy from last week, this song is very upbeat, fun and kept the boys and I laughing and dancing throughout.
I Am Your Gummy Bear is a novelty dance song by German Composer Christian Schneider. It has been released in at least seven languages and has virally spread worldwide with more than 30 million plays of the corresponding videos on YouTube and MySpace. The highly stylized Gummibär character is naked except for yellow underwear and sneakers. Gummibear also seems to bitten with a small portion of the upper left ear missing, which may be because the song is about candy hehe.
Tonights show is delayed one more night sadly, for a few reasons. Tonight is my grandpa's birthday party and I probably will not be home until fairly late. I also have not finished sorting through all your requests for the third hour of the show. So, you can still send in requests for the show, (And for those of you who dont know what's going on tomorrow night, send in your favorite Dance songs, I dont have many line dances so if you have a favorite, send it in!!) and you will receive an entry for each song that I play on the show. Then, at the end of the show I will draw a winner for a $20 Amazon.com Gift Certificate. Tomorrow's show will be THREE hours long. From 9 - 10 PM EDT, will be the normal top 10. Then from 10 - 11 Will be the first hour of the dance party. I picked a full hour of dance party madness ;). Then the third hour (from 11PM - 12AM EDT) will be all requests! You email in your requests right here and I'll do my best to make sure they are on the show!! Comment here or email me (zach@steeplemedia.com) if you have any questions!!! (or requests)
Here are the top charts this week! Next week, I hope to have added how the song did the week before because you might want to see how your song is doing :)
Enjoy! And don't forget, there are FIVE charts here, click through the top link bar and view them all
Alright, in the hot seat this week is the brand new artist (in the US anyway) named Adele. She is making her US performance debut on The View on 9/3/08! Normally I dont promote contests, but you can enter to win Airline tickets to New York and tickets to that day's airing of The View to watch Adele! Go here for more information!!
So about Adele. She is an English jazz singer describing her musical style as "heartbroken soul." She is the first recipient of the Brit Awards Critic's Choice, which was given to artists who, at the time, had yet to release an album. She debuted at number one with her Mercury Prize nominated debut album 19 in the UK album chart and has yet since then been certified platinum with sales over 500,000 copies.
So her album 19 has been FAIRLY successful On January 28, 2008, 19 was released in the UK and went straight to number one. It was certified platinum within a month of its release. In March this year, Adele signed to Columbia Records and the album was released on June 20th right here in the states!
19 was written about a former boyfriend. Chasing Pavements refers to an incident that occured during the early AM hours after a fight with her ex-boyfriend. Adele was running down the street alone and thought to herself "What you're chasing is you're chasing an empty pavement." Adele finds it fairly hard to sing Melt My Heart to Stone becasue it was written right after her breakup with the former boyfriend.
Adele is a self described "big drinker" who drinks to stave off boredom. She is worried because she can envisage herself at some future time becoming like Amy Winehouse. Adele does not use drugs, nor has she ever done so. In August 2008 Adele has reported she has a boyfriend. She also noted that "I can't wait to be a mum". She said she is fearful that her personal life may hurt her future music plans.
Before I review, here's the track list
I thought the album was fantastic! obviously Chasing Pavements is my favorite song off of the album, I hear it on the radio at least 10 times a day. You can watch the music video above. My other favorite songs include Daydreamer, Cold Shoulder, Hometown Glory and Right as Rain. The Song "Right as Rain" sounds sooo familiar. At first I thought it sounded like the Beatles a bit but I think its more like the Eagles now... Its really hard to tell but if you listen to it, you will get what I'm saying...
Well Adele, I am liking the album! I look forward to hearing more from her. She said that she will be writing her next album on US soil... right in New York. She said it would give her the inspiration she is lacking at home where she is comfortable. I'm the same way. I can get a lot more work done when I'm not comfortable at my desk.
I'm going to give her: out of 5 stars.

For those of you who like spoilers, here is the top 10!
Hey All! This is JoJo fillin' in for Sandi for the next few weeks with your World Top 100!! I had a lot of fun going through the chart to pick something out that stuck out for me. Made me realize how different music is all around the world. It also made me appreciate how hard it must be these days for the writers and the music composers to come up with something original!!
Out of all of the great tunes we watched and listened to, the song that stuck out most for me (and of course my 4 dancing pet monsters) was the # 73 song-Psycho Teddy!! It has a really great beat and of course it's impossible to watch it, not get your body moving, and roaring with laughter at the same time!! hehe Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did!!
Psycho Teddy is a techno song composed by Michael Mushiga and Dion Howell. It was released in Australia on April 12, 2008. It is one of the few songs released in Australia to be pure techno!
The Video-
The music video was created using computerized graphics and features Psycho Teddy in two different appearances, one "cute" and one "psycho". The cute version shows him wearing heart-shaped glasses, hugging himself and jumping around with joy.
When he changes to his psycho form, he has taken off his glasses and begins acting crazy, spinning around, making faces and jumping about. The video starts and ends with the impression that a television is being switched on and off.
And now for your preview of this weeks Top 100!!! Enjoy all!
Enjoy!
I picked this guy out of the World Wide top 100 a few weeks ago as a personal fave - and I have since found out more about him and listened to his whole album. Both his bio and his album are quite fascinating!Meet Sam Sparro. It just so happens he was born in Sydney Australia! He moved to LA when he was 10 with his family. His grandfather performed with Frank Sinatra, his father was a gospel minister and recording artist who has written for Star Trek and *** Eye for the Straight Guy.He now lives between LA and the UK for the most part. His music is a mixture of soul, dance, electrofunk and house.Sparro has only released 3 singles from his debut first album so far: Cottonmouth, Black and Gold and 21st Century Life.
Those three are definitely stand outs. Here is the US release lineup for the CD (released 24 June 2008) 1. "S.A.M.S.P.A.R.R.O" (Sparro) – 2:33 Electronica, funky 2. "Too Many Questions" – 3:56 More soulful, moody but strong 3. "Black and Gold" – 4:35 Gorgeous love song - rich and fulfilling 4. "21st Century Life" – 4:21 Fun and funky 5. "Sick" – 4:08 "It's a sick world I'll be your medicine" How romantic! 6. "Waiting for Time" (Sparro, Eg White) – 3:32 Slowed down pace here - interesting and sort of dreamy 7. "Recycle It!" – 1:17 Mish mash of sound with a clear message! Recycle! 8. "Cottonmouth" – 3:37 Love the piano here. 9. "Hot Mess" (Sparro, Eg White) – 3:01 Reminded me a little of Prince here 10. "Pocket" (Sparro, Epworth) – 4:45 I love when he sings low notes as he does in this track. 11. "Cut Me Loose" – 3:54 This sounds like Prince again - very funky! 12. "Sally" – 3:59 I'm going to call this romantic dance. Lyrics lend a little from the Police's "Roxanne" 13. "Clingwrap" – 4:01 This is definitely a hit, single #4 right here if you ask me. I love the lyrics! 14. "Still Hungry" (hidden track) - 4:27 A slow ballad - sounds raw, rather unpolished. I look forward to hearing more from Sparro as he refines and develops his music more.
Black and Gold
Cling Wrap
Congratulations to our FIRST prize winner for making all comments come to a standstill for longer than 8 hours!

Therefore, our winner is PARIBANOU!!!
