What cha workin' for today?
When we get to heaven I promise you God will not be asking these questions to us... How much did you weigh? How handsome/pretty were you? How big was your bank account? Did You drive a nice car or live in a fancy house? Did you keep your full head of hair? Did you complete the american dream? Was your family ideal?
NOOOOO!!!! He won't be asking those kind of questions!! He will be asking - Did you read my word? Did you obey my word? Did you give? Did you tell others about me? How did you respond to My Great Commission? Did you take care of the orphans and the widows? Did you love the unlovely? Give comfort to the sick and the homeless? Did you feed the poor? Did you visit those in prison?
The other stuff is just distractions to keep us from getting on with Gods instructions. Read HIS instructions and fulfill them the best way that you can - with what God has given YOU - not others!
That re-direction in thinking is VERRRYYYY free-ing! Thats because its Gods way - the best way!
I am choosing to focus on what I DO HAVE - not what I don't have!
For example - I don't have kids - but I have 70 5th and 6th graders!
I had cancer, but now I don't! I could have wallowed in self pity and gotten depressed through all God has allowed me to endure - but instead JESUS RESCUED ME from it! HALLELUJAH!!!! That is something to rejoice about!
I should have been left for dead...but I'm not dead - I AM ALIVE!!!
I don't make a lot of money - but I have the LOVE of my Savior - Jesus Christ!
