Live Out Loud

A blog dedicated to living life as loud as we can for Christ.

Matthew 14:30- What If?

"But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me." Matthew 14:30

What if...? There are a lot of "What ifs...?" in the christian life. Flocks, herds, coveys, and gaggles of "What ifs...?" are ever present along the trail that leads to Heaven. Peter was walking on water, another unprecedented day in the archives of human achievement! He observed the conditions, became frightened and began to sink. My contention has always been that the moment Peter experienced a "sinking feeling" he cried out for the assistance of Jesus. According to verse 31, "immediately" Jesus rescued sinking Simon. What I'm trying to say is, is that I'm trying to learn how to take care of mole hills before they become mountain ranges. Resolve petty issues before they turn into wounded spirits. Reconcile small problems before they evolve into major difficulties. At the first glimpse of spiritual decline or cold-heartedness cry out to Jesus, "Lord, save me" and find safety in the in the ship and the stilling of the waves and worship, "...they that were in the ship...worshipped him..."(vs.33)
