Christmas Explained
Oswald Chambers said, "Jesus was manifested as God Incarnate for one purpose-to be identified with the sin of the world and to bear it away." The Babe in a manger was Almighty God. Seeing these words on paper fail to describe the majesty of the One in the stable. He is no mere child; He is the Sovereign of the universe. He is not a helpless, cooing baby, He is holiness personified. He is no frail weakling; He is the wonder of wonders, the express image of the Godhead body. He is God-Emmanuel, God with us! This sinless, spotless, blameless Lamb of God came into the world to die physically, thus paying the price for man's sin. God made Him to be what we are...sin. So that we might be made what He is...righteousness! God treated us like He was us and our punishment was laid on Him. This allows God to treat us like we were Jesus! We get to have His righteousness, His nature, His spirit and eventually we get to live in His Home...Heaven! I trust the wondrous truth of the incarnation of Christ will be uppermost in your thinking this upcoming Christmas day.
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:21
