Canada won a slew of medals! I am an avid fan of the Olympics no matter where or in what season, too. Especially this year, as the son of one of my acquaintances won the gold in bobsled! Her small town of 630 just a few short miles from me was rocking! Our whole state(Nebraska)celebrated that one.

Canadian Economic History - but I suspect anything taught by Professor Rotstein would be just as good. In the hands of the right professor, any course can be amazing.

Speaking of Laurier again, I've been informed that they have a well-configured summer + two winter terms array of courses which lets you accomplish the same thing in a short span of time.

I would've gone on and on about how much easier Commerce is than Engineering, but figured that any Engineering student knows it, and any Commie paying attention realizes that the courseload isn't all that bad.

While for one to take MGT courses one must first be accepted into Commerce, MGT120 was the only course that *any* student from *any* discipline could enrol in.

So when I was officially admitted as a Commerce student, I was already eligible to take the more advanced accounting courses (MGT220, MGT223, MGT224, MGT393 — Financial Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting I, Management ["Cost"] Accounting and the Legal Environment of Business). The current course codes, of course, are different since UT Commerce is now under “Rotman.”

By the way, I presume you also went to U of T. What is the name of that Economics History course that you found to be such an eye-opener?

I'll have to share my "baseline haggling" findings later, though - there's always new tricks to learn. Or old tricks to rediscover.

In this case it'd be a bit tricky to decide on whether or not the clothes will fit unless you have a Chinese body-double to help you with that.

Even had I left and a confederate returned to haggle over the same model, I could see the store's staff suspiciously asking if they know me. I suspect their doubt level wold be high unless we had time to send someone to return much later in the day.

Regardless, the phrase, "do you have it in Gweilo size?" became a bit of a running gag. And a huge time saver in stores with limited selections for tall types.

re: Chinese sales tactics: questionably awesome

"You could be a model,"

HAHAHAHA. Too funny. I'm not surprised though. This is a very common sales tactic used in most parts of Asia. And I've always wondered if the "foreigners" fall for it.

You could have done better with the bargaining though. As long as they see your skin color, the price would jump two-folds...you should have gotten a local (a haggling pro) to do the bargaining minus your presence. That way, you'll get the local price for sure.
