Favorite Yogi Berra quotes! by fleur_de_lis

MVP 3 times, 10 World Series rings, 300 homers and an enduring legacy of quotes that as Joe Garagiola once said, 'You walk away and you want to screw your head on a little bit tighter...Did he really say that?'. Here is a sampling of some of my favorites, and be sure to add your own. You better cut the pizza in 4 pieces because I'm not hungry enough to eat 6. If the world were perfect, it wouldn't be. If you can't imitate him, don't copy him. It was impossible to get a conversation going, everybody was talking too much. It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future. I wish I had an answer to that because I'm tired of answering that question. When you come to a fork in the road, take it. A nickel ain't worth a dime any more. Baseball is 90% mental. The other half is physical. He hits from both sides of the plate. He's amphibious. I always thought that record would stand until it was broken. I'm not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia...

My Favorite Star Trek Quotes... by fleur_de_lis

Have any of you seen the new Star Trek movie yet? I plan on going, but I hope I won't be disappointed like I was when I saw the new Indiana Jones movie, and the remake of the Day the Earth Stood Still. There are so many Star Trek quotes I could use including favorites such as "Beam me up, Scotty", "Fascinating", "Live long and prosper", "Engage", and my very favorite "Tea, Earl Gray. Hot", but I thought I would walk down memory lane with the following' Scotty: The best diplomat that I know is a fully-loaded phaser bank. McCoy: I signed aboard this ship to practice medicine, not to have my atoms scattered back and forth across space by this gadget. McCoy: By golly Jim... I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day! Scotty: Just before they went into warp, I beamed the whole kit and kaboodle into their engine room, where they'll be no tribble at all. Kirk: The best defense is a strong offense. And I intend to start offending...

My Favorite 'Dumb' Dumbledore quotes... by fleur_de_lis

Yes, it's silly, but I love Harry Potter, and Dumbledore has always been one of my favorite characters. Here is a selection of some of his sillier quotes: 1. "Numbing the pain for awhile will make it worse when you finally feel it." 2. "Don't count your owls before they are delivered." 3. "He cannot kill you if you are already dead." 4. "From this point forward we shall be leaving the firm foundation of fact and journeying together through the murky marshes of memory into thickets of wildest guesswork." 5. " What happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret, so, naturally the whole school knows." 6. "Tell me one last thing," said Harry. "Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?" "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?" 7. "Alas, ear wax.!" 8. "It's lucky it's...

Favorite 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' (1951) quotes by fleur_de_lis

I have seen this movie several times, and I am definitely looking forward to the new version coming out in December. I know I have plans to see it, do you? Hopefully I won't be disappointed. Here is a sampling of my favorite quotes from the old version Helen: Gort! Klaatu barada nikto! (If they don't use this phrase I will be very upset)! Klaatu: I'm worried about Gort. I'm afraid of what he might do if anything should happen to me. Helen: Gort? But he's a robot. Without you, what could he do? Klaatu: There's no limit to what he could do. He could destroy the earth. Mr. Harley: Your impatience is quite understandable. Klaatu: I'm impatient with stupidity. My people have learned to live without it. Mr. Harley: I'm afraid my people haven't. I'm very sorry...I wish it were otherwise. (first lines) American Radar Operator: Holy Mackerel! Call headquarters. Get the lieutenant. Old Man: Why doesn't the government do something, that's what I'd...

Favorite 'Yoda' Quotes! by fleur_de_lis

Yoda is one of my all time favorite movie characters. I just love the way he talks, I love his advice, and I love his moral fiber! Here is a list of quotes and I just MAY comment like Yoda on the blogs this week! Please feel free to add your own favorites, as usual. (When you spend a lot of time with 11 year old boys, it just seems to rub off on you--that's my excuse anyway!) Mmm. Lost a planet, Master Obi-Wan has. How embarrassing. How embarrassing. Always two there are, a master and an apprentice. Down here I am, find a ladder, I must. Clear your mind must be, if you are to find the villains behind this plot. Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not. Hmmmm?

Favorite 'Mummy' quotes! by fleur_de_lis

The newest installment in the 'Mummy' series will be here August 1. It's called 'The Mummy-Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' and looks like it takes place in a tomb similar to that of Emperor Qin's pottery army. I always enjoyed Brendan Fraser and his roles in 'The Mummy' and 'The Mummy Returns' so I thought I would do a few favorite quotes from those two shows. Feel free to add your own as we go along! My all time favorite one is: Evelyn: Look, I...I may not be an explorer, or an adventurer, or a treasure-seeker, or a gunfighter, Mr. O'Connell, but I am proud of what I am. Rick: And what is that? Evelyn: I...am a librarian.

Here is a last bunch of favorite quotes for you. As always, feel free to add your own! Belloq: How odd that it should end this way for us after so many stimulating encounters. I almost regret it. Where shall I find a new adversary so close to my own level? Indiana: Try the local sewer. Willie: There are two dead people out here! Indiana: We're going to be two dead people in here! Hurry! Indiana: Since I've met you I've nearly been incinerated, drowned, shot at and chopped into fishbait. Professor Henry Jones: You said he had a two day head start. That he would blend in, disappear. Indiana: Are you kidding me, I made all that up, you know Marcus, he got lost once in his own museum.
