My Favorite Star Trek Quotes...

Photobucket

Have any of you seen the new Star Trek movie yet? I plan on going, but I hope I won't be disappointed like I was when I saw the new Indiana Jones movie, and the remake of the Day the Earth Stood Still. There are so many Star Trek quotes I could use including favorites such as "Beam me up, Scotty", "Fascinating", "Live long and prosper", "Engage", and my very favorite "Tea, Earl Gray. Hot", but I thought I would walk down memory lane with the following'

Scotty: The best diplomat that I know is a fully-loaded phaser bank.

McCoy: I signed aboard this ship to practice medicine, not to have my atoms scattered back and forth across space by this gadget.

McCoy: By golly Jim... I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day!

Scotty: Just before they went into warp, I beamed the whole kit and kaboodle into their engine room, where they'll be no tribble at all.

Kirk: The best defense is a strong offense. And I intend to start offending right now.

Spock: I've never understood the female capacity to avoid a direct answer to any question.

Worf: I must protest, I am not a merry man!

Kirk: I was saving the galaxy when your grandfather was in diapers.

Kirk: I'm from Iowa, I only work in outer space.

Riker: Shields up! Rrrrred alert!

Q (to Worf): Eaten any good books lately?

Picard: Make it so, Number One.

Wesley Crusher: Captain, we're receiving two hundred and eighty-five thousand hails.

McCoy: Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a brick layer...or...I'm a doctor, not an escalator...or... I'm a doctor, not a coal miner...or...I'm not a magician, Spock, just an old country doctor...or...What am I, a doctor or a moon-shuttle conductor?...or...I'm a doctor, not an engineer.

Worf: Assimilate this!

Riker: Smooth as an android's bottom, eh, Data?

Picard: We must anticipate, and not make the same mistake once.

Well, there are a few--please add your own favorites!

Spock (still learning how to use profanity in 20th century America): They like you very much but they are not the hell 'your' whales.

I really enjoyed this movie, so I thought I would add one more quote. This one explains how Leonard "Bones" McCoy came by his nickname.

McCoy (on joining Starfleet despite a fear of flying): I got nowhere else to go. The ex-wife took the whole damn planet in the divorce. All I got left is my bones.
