Winners / Prize Pool / Suggestions 6/29/07
Friday, June 29, 2007 12:01 AM

Well it's been a pretty good week once again for us!

It can be a good week for YOU too if you submit a winning site to me before 6pm EST tonight and I choose it for site of the week on Monday! Three happy winners already (yes, your cd's are coming, but it does take me a little while to order them and receive them). Who will be winner #4?

www.jellyfish.com continues to be our best chance at winning stuff.

This week we had 3 winners I know of: GForce, Soccer-ref and Unilab98. CONGRATULATIONS! They were not huge wins, but very exciting all the same, and considering the fact that you don't have to spend a red cent to play, it's a pretty good deal!

If you haven't joined up yet, please join us and remember to put sandi@steeplemedia.net in the referrer box at bottom of the page if you want to be in any steeplemedia draws resulting from this site! You also must add SteepleMedia as your buddy on jellyfish. There is usually a Steep or two chatting in irc #jellyfish who can show you the ropes. They are nice. They wont care if this is your first day on Steeplemedia let alone Jellyfish! Join us!

YOU CAN HELP US WIN $5000!

Let me try to explain how team work could really pay off here.

Right now the SteepleMedia account is 4th on the outwit board.

If Steeplemedia remains in the top ten, we get $5. If Steeplemedia makes it to 1st we get $50. If Steeplemedia has an overall percentage of 30% we get $100, 35% = $1000 and 40% = $5000.

Right now we are at 25.41%

We have about 20 referrals and about 8 people regularly show in irc. If we had 50 ppl regularly showing, we could very plausibly work together to build Steeplemedia's %.

Here's what happens if Steeplemedia wins (after taxes are taken out of course) :

1st $50 - goes towards Steeplemedia site upgrades and hosting fees

2nd - 4th $50 goes in $50 bundles into raffle amongst referrals - and ONLY referrals. Sorry, but I think that's most fair. You need to be contributing to be in the draw I think. If you didn't sign up under Steeplemedia and you want to change it, a few people have written support and asked them to rectify that for them, and they did without any problems. Please email me the confirmation that was done, and you are set! Tell them SteepleMedia was your referrer and the email address is sandi@steeplemedia.net

After that we go back to 1st again.

Less than $50? That will sit there until it builds to $50. I will post any Steeple account winnings/earnings when they come in. So far there is $0 in the account.

The statistics run monthly, so we have just TWO DAYS LEFT to win this time around. We start from scratch again July 1st.

If anyone has any comments or suggestions PLEASE always feel free to share them with me either by posting here or by email. I do want everyone to feel heard and happy!

Regardless, those of us who are in the swing and playing every day are really having a ball, so come join us!

Prize Pool

Seems like noone is keen on the idea of a Tombola. So any suggestions about a fun way to get prizes to people who actually want them and cash to the winners would be very much appreciated.

Some of the items in the prize pool right now are:

* Zune with a copy of LeBron's personal playlist

* $70 in iTunes cards

* $500 in Maybelline makeup

*Professional Maybelline Makeup case

*Signed sports memorabilia

*iPod shuffle, nano and iPod accessories

*Spa kit

*portable DVD player

* whole slew of small stuff worth $2 - $20 each

* More stuff I can't recall right now!

These are all things people have won, not used, and would prefer cash for. Gotta be some people out there who would appreciate the prizes! Anyone who has won something but really needs the cash instead would be able to do that via this prize pool. So, any ideas? Otherwise it's Ebay for all of us :)

Have a fabulous weekend!

*Free hair! Kinda weird but I feel oddly compelled to include this free sample of pony tail hair for braiding after my sister showed me a picture of a Fijian good luck charm - which basically looked like someone had chopped the hair of a 20 yr old Barbie doll. I think this is gonna be lucky too haha

*Free sword  Check out this cool site. They offer unique handmade swords, video game swords, and movie replicas as well as other fantasy related collectibles. Write about them in your blog (hey, I guess this qualifies!) and let them know, and they will send you a FREE sword! There are restrictions on most FREE blog sites I'm afraid. My source says they received a wakizashi sword via Fed Ex. It's neat - the sheath is red with gold dragons on it. Check out the Final Fantasy Swords! I think they are my favourite. There are a LOT of items on this site - "the internets largest collection of Swords, Daggers, Knives, Armor, Airsoft, Samurai, Ninja, Anime, Fantasy, Self defense, Stun guns, and Movie collectibles. Come inside and see what you can find!"

I will definately let you guys know when I receive this one! Sounds awesome.

*Free 4 pack of EnduraGlide Dry-Erase markers

http://www.sampletize.com/enduraglide/registration.aspx

*Free (but you pay $15 S&H) Senseo Coffee Pot & Accessories. I went ahead and did this one, but I leave it to you to decide. They charge $15 for shipping and handling IF they decide you qualify. To qualify, answer ALL questions like you have a million friends who you have get togethers with OFTEN and who all listen to you and who you love to talk to about new deals. These are on Amazon and Ebay for $65, and I qualified, so I'm in. Mind you, took them about 3 weeks to let me know I qualified.

Have fun! Tell me what you like what you hate and what you receive when you get it!

Bargain Wednesday 6/27/07
Tuesday, June 26, 2007 9:28 PM

Came across this site - really interesting!

It compiles all of the auctions that are about to end on Ebay - "An hour or less, a buck or less" is the slogan! Fun!

Be wary of shipping - as usual many sharks put up 99c auctions and then slip in a $12.99 shipping charge or something equally outrageous.

http://www.lastminute-auction.com/index.php

Since we're talking Ebay - on the odd occasion, this site comes in very handy:

 http://www.fatfingers.com/

You enter what you are looking for, and fatfingers will compile a list of possible typo's people can make for that item. If an item is spelled incorrectly then hopefully noone will be able to find it except you and you make out like a bandit! Works well with lesser sought after items.

Okay, entertainment purposes only...

http://www.bizarrebids.com/

What's even more bizarre is what these items end up selling for...

Guys Im getting tired of talking to myself! If you find a bargain or something you want to share on any of these sites, please come back and let me know! I'd love to hear!

Meanwhile......

*Smackathon is still on...3 Steeps were chosen to play Outwit, one of them won $20

*Tangathon is on! Yep, there was one just last week and it's on again. They had no trash last week after I raved about it, so there had BETTER be some this time or I'll be having words! Trust me, it's worth $1.99 to have a go.

*eScavengers is tonight. Let's make it another Steep win! (:30pm EST - Head to irc #Steeplemedia from 8:30pm onwards. Or #Jellyfish - we're always in jellyfish :)

savemyhusband prize news!
Tuesday, June 26, 2007 8:55 PM

Just got my email.

6,013 actually solved the mystery all the way through. That's $4.16 each!

I'm surprised! I honestly thought we were getting 2c.

There is definately another one coming so keep your eyes open for it. The email hints very heavily at a www.savesoniahaswell.com game, as we suspected.

For $4, what the hey, I'm in :)

How about you guys?

P.S. I did send off for my copy of winners list. 6013 names - should be interesting!

Site of the Week - Week 3 Winner
Sunday, June 24, 2007 8:34 PM

This one comes to us courtesy of kimekaze. Congratulations Kim, you have won a CD! Look for an email from me shortly.

Now I not completely gung-ho about this one, but I am interested and I think it might be fun with a few of us doing it - we can have our own Steeple contest for those who like to be competitive - see who is correct most often.

If you LOVE reality TV, you might like this.

I think its more about fun than prizes, but here's the basic idea:

They have various questions relating to various TV Shows (mostly reality shows) and you BET with points on different outcomes. You receive 50,000 points for joining. Then you could bet 500 pts on who will be sent home next on The Lot. If you are right, you win more tokens. At the end of each month you can (if you like) trade 1000 for a raffle ticket in the prize draw. There is NO CASH involved, ever.

This month it's a $250 gift certificate.

The site has only been up for 4 months and they claim to have 4 monthly winners. I cannot vouch for the validity of this aspect. Perhaps kimekaze can provide us with more information as she has 580,000 points so far and is 7th on the leaderboard over there! Nice Kim!

For each referal you make, you get 5000 points. If you use the Steeplemedia link right here, I will use ALL points in that account to buy tickets at the end of each month. If Steeple wins, it will be raffled off amongst referrals. If you don't want to use the referral link, as always, fine by me, but you will not be included in such draws if there ever is one. Click here to sign up on your own.

I'm going to check out the pirate master questions, I'll let you know my thoughts. Anyone have any tips for any other current auctions feel free to share here or in winners circle forum pages.

Wonder how many entries they get in the raffles....since they are still new, we might stand a chance...

Prize Pool / Winners / Suggestions
Thursday, June 21, 2007 11:08 PM

Congrats first of all again to KELGATT who not only won the PSP in eScavengers this week but also won $110 on jellyfish playing Outwit. WELL DONE!!

Goes to show, we can win this stuff, it's not rigged :)

I have no new wins to report - I won another photo book from the Old Navy instant win, another 1 month membership to mytracks from the Dominos instant win and more song downloads from the Castrol instant win.

I also have a pile of prizes still sitting here I won back when I used to have some free time, before I started doing this post :)

I'd really like to do the Tombola idea. Can you let me know if its something you guys would be interested in? We would need quite a few people interested to make it work. Anyone who has a prize they want to tranfer to cash would also be able to get involved.

Please please post your wins to share your good news with us! And post those Live Msn scores too!! The race is on to see who can reach 3000 first...will it be YOU? (It's not gonna be me, I can tell you that much!)

Have a fabulous weekend!

Come back Monday to see who the next Site of the week winner is! We have 2 happy winners so far: Zach and Winnie!

Newcomers welcome!!!

BARGAIN WEDNESDAY!
Wednesday, June 20, 2007 12:10 AM

Happy Wednesday to you all!

If you have any money left over after Jellyfish and Tanga, here's another place to go crazy!

I mention www.woot.com, because it has been brought to my attention that this site is not universally known by every man and his dog just yet :)

It's a deal a day site, with approximately every six weeks a 'woot off'. The woot trash bags are highly coveted and anything that looks like complete junk and sells for about $4.99 - get it if you can because some folk buy this stuff on Ebay for insane amounts of money. I'm talking a flying monkey with a woot cape.....what do I know?

I'm a bit tired of woot - lots of big ticket items and refurb city over there, which I am not a big fan of. Jellyfish is NEVER refurbs btw.

I'm sitting up all night if I have to to get my bag of Tanga trash though - did I mention they rock? Tangathon still on as I type.

I'm going to include another since I'm copping out a bit with woot:

http://www.bargainist.com/

I really like this site. This is the place to go when you are heading out to Linens and Things or Best Buy - chances are good you'll find a printable coupon on here. They also list sales, freebies, deals.

Sorry, no shopping games this week! I am too busy with Jelly, Tanga and livemsn!

Speaking of live msn - how many tickets do you all have? Come on, let's stir up some competition! Gforce? Unilab? Zach? What u got? I'm going to have 1500 before bed tonight...

Also - please email me (sandi@steeplemedia.net) if you signed up for Tanga. The referral thing was out of whack, so I need to fix it if you wanted to sign up under Steeplemedia, ok? Thanks!

TANGATHON TODAY!
Tuesday, June 19, 2007 11:33 AM

Tanga is having a Tangathon. If you haven't checked them out yet, have a look today - especially if you love board and card games.

They will have one item after another until they are sold out.

At some point (last time it was the last item sold) they will have a BAG OF TANGA TRASH for sale. I HIGHLY recommend trying to nab a couple!

Last time for $1.99 I got 2 board games, a battery free torch, a blinking shot glass and something else I can't recall right now!

BARGAIN!

Go do some puzzles when you are there, and tell me the answers would ya?

IN to WIN!! Win stuff here
Tuesday, June 19, 2007 12:45 AM

Keep those entries coming for site of the week - I will announce another winner next Monday. If you have submitted something that has yet to be published, i will keep those sites in the pool to consider for next week. Thanks for the entries!

Here's my top instant win pick for this week:

https://rewards.fedexkinkos.epsihost.com/homePage.jspx

Its the Fedex instant win, and they have some super prizes up for grabs - laptop, blackberries, lots of good stuff.

It's rather tricky finding your way in without any proof of purchases - but I got ya covered! Here's what to do.

1. log in (yes you need to set up an account)
2. Click on FAQ's (on left column)
3. Click on "Scratch and match instant win game rules" (close to top)
4. Click on 4c - alternate method of entry - click where you see the blue link saying click here

Repeat 5 times per day! It's a little annoying, but I won a $22 fleet set and I know someone who won both a laptop and a popcorn sampler. I played 5 times in a row when I won, but they are drawn based on time so it might be an idea to spread your 5 tries out over the day. Let me know if you win!

I can't believe it's taken me 5 weeks to realise there is an instant win component to this game:

http://www.aolmobilemystery.com/

It's the AOL Nancy Drew Sweepstakes. To enter the sweeps, the answers so far are:
1. black, 2. grettings, 3. detective, 4. orange 5. cupcake

However you can also win a $10 Nancy Drew poster! I won the first time I tried. You have to use AIM. Add nancysmobile as a buddy, then IM her. Doesnt matter what you say to her - the rest will be self explanatory. Using AIM is free. If you text her from your phone, then text messaging rates apply. If you play again you will probably win some phone wallpaper. I didn't bother looking at it...

I don't think I mentioned this one before, because it's basically winning ringtones. I win EVERY single time. It's actually pretty fun the first few times. You get to mix your own combination of sounds to make a slightly unique tune. Kind of fun. However, the grand prize is nothing to be sneezed at and probably worth an entry just for that.

http://www.keepingittwisted.com/

Play both Win a mix and mash DJ experience (password go-sip) and win a remixed ride (password airaoke)

1) Grand Prize: Trip for winner and (1) guest to Los Angeles, CA, to tour the “Ron Canyon Motors” automobile design studio and a mashed-up car provided by the studio with certain design options as chosen by the winner. Design options are subject to limitations and Sponsor’s approval. Vehicle will be composed of used automobile parts. Prize includes round-trip air transportation for (2) to Los Angeles, CA, hotel accommodations (one standard room, double occupancy) for (2) nights, and ground transportation to and from the airport and to and from the studios. Travel dates are yet to be determined.
ARV of Grand Prize: $100,000.

Grand Prize Winner has the option to pick $37,500 in customized options for the vehicle. In the event that Grand Prize Winner does not select any additional features, Grand Prize Winner will not receive the difference.

(5,000) First Prizes: Mashed-Up Ringtones (true/master tones) using licensed popular music.
ARV: $5.98 each.

(75,000) Second Prizes: Twisted Ringtones (true or poly tones) using generic/public domain music.
ARV: $2.99 each.

I cannot believe I have not won anything on this game yet, but I can't resist playing it. You get to whack the smack out of all kinds of forest-y things like you are playing baseball. I am an animal lover myself, but the badger is kinda funny to hit. Don't hit the fish, pumpkins or beehives! Post top scores here, I wanna see if you can beat mine :) My best single hit was 343 in one hit. Top THAT!

http://www.sasquatchgames.com/index.tbapp?page=intro

You can win bobblehead dolls, t-shirts and calendars.

Thanks to the newbies who have joined up with jellyfish! Make sure you play at 1pm EST weekdays if you can - best time to play.

How many tickets are you all up to already for live msn games?? I'm hitting 1100 before bed tonight...

This is the unscrambler I use - fabulous!
