gadget. Magnetic Propelled Car Concept

This concept vehicle is designed by Phillipp Siebourg, and it is not designed for the average consumer, but for vehicles that can’t afford to be stopped by traffic. It uses a magnetic track to guide the vehicle, which can be controlled by a cellular phone. That’s right, if you are a specialty vehicle in the future, you might be able to just dial up your location and sit back and enjoy the ride. It certainly beats the heck out of a GPS. Hey, just think of how easy FedEx and UPS drivers will have it if this process ever gets going. You know it really should be in place now. You remember that Jean-Claude Van Damme movie Timecop? What year did that future world take place in, 2004? As I recall, the cars drove themselves, and looked really weird. So at the end of the movie, where the main character says he wants to go home, the car brings him to his location. Yeah, I don’t see this type of technology becoming a reality anytime soon. But in its defense, Seattle just put in a new Light Rail that...

gadget.Stow away garage

The Cardok garage is an interesting parking solution that is starting to be seen around more affluent London locales. The owner’s car is raised and lowered by means of a hydraulic lift. At present there are eight in action around London, four under construction and another ten that have been ordered, which is no small feat as the price for the single model is $61,181 and if you want an over and under double it will be $72,816.

gadget. Rear View Mirror Car Camera Recorder

Often times, automobile accidents boil down to either one man’s word against another or some arbitrary rule that the one driving behind is automatically at fault. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to have video proof of who’s at fault? Well, only if it’s the other guy, that is! But that’s the idea behind this Rear View Mirror Car Camera Recorder. Check out the video of it recording an accident here . The video camera is mounted in the rear view mirror and it functions as a blind spot reduction, backup camera, and a DVR. It records to SD card and records not only the video image, but equally important is the time and date. And with SD cards, removal of the video clips to play on your PC is extremely simple. And what’s really cool is that the Rear View Mirror Car Camera Recorder works with your existing rear view mirror as an overlay, so there’s no expensive and time consuming installation process to replace the stock mirror. It just slips right over it. Other features include 2.5” LCD screen...

gadget. PUMA

This is probably one of those stories that might be getting too much press, but I’m covering it anyway for those who haven’t heard. Essentially, General Motors and Segway have teamed up to create Project PUMA. PUMA stands for Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility, and it is essentially the next step up for Segway. The PUMA can hold two or more passengers, and everyone always asks how in the world a third person could ride this without being dragged. Is anyone still amazed at the perfect balance? I admire that they figured out how to put two people on it. Anyway, the PUMA can reach speeds of up to 35 miles an hour, at a cost of 35 cents per charge. A recent press release has stated that this versatile vehicle will be good for “social networking”. Man, everyone wants to dip into that Kool-Aid these days, don’t they? PUMA drivers may not be able to update their Facebook sites as they go, but the OnStar system will inform the PUMA drivers or other PUMA drivers in the vicinity. PUMA will...

gadget.Windshield Wiper Sharpener!

On my trip home yesterday, I began to notice how bad my windshield wipers were getting. I found this and thought it would fit perfectly on this blog!! Now, this is one of those gadgets you never had a clue you needed. Since you’ve seen it though, I’d be willing to bet you’re at least curious to try it. When windshield wiper blades start to go bad, I know at least a good portion of us, myself included, put off taking care of it as long as possible. After all, it doesn’t rain all the time, so as long as you’re not having a run of bad weather, bad windshield wiper blades are easy to ignore. Although, it’s probably not best to ignore the issue in the winter. Since that is the case for many, we’ve probably all at least once experienced the joys of replacing windshield wiper blades in the pouring rain. Well apparently there’s another way to put off replacing those blades, which is good news for the procrastinators and especially those that are excessively cheap. Instead you can take this little...
