Last week, LaCie introduced the “most complete HD multimedia hard drive player”. The LaCinema Classic HD is designed by Neil Poulton, and allows users to browse, play, and share HD media collections from anywhere in the home, directly on HDTV. The LaCinema Classic HD has an external hard drive to load media from your Mac or PC. From there, it becomes quite easy to connect the HDTV for “instant playback” of your video, music, or even photo files. Did I mention that it holds more than 1 terabyte of storage? Well, it does. It can also work in sync with your home network, which can act as a media server to stream content to compatible players like the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. It plays DivX format from high-quality MKV H264 video format via HDMI 1.3 connection. It would appear that Microsoft isn’t the only one who is making new 720p webcams , as Hercules has announced the Dualpix HD 720p. The Hercules Dualpix HD 720p lives up to its name as it shoots in 720p HD resolution video with 1280 x 720 resolution at 30 frames per second with 16/9 format. As for photo resolution, it has 5 megapixels in interpolated mode, and it has a 1 megapixel CMOS sensor for quality images, even in low-light conditions. There is also a high-quality built-in microphone for good sound as well. The Autofocus lens allows a wide viewing angle, which is, according to my source: “Awesome! Now you can be seen from head to toe”. It uses USB 2.0 Video Class (UVC) interface for high-speed transfers for “driverless installation” for Windows XP SP2, Vista, and Windows 7.
