Key up the trumpets, Que the firetrucks, bring in the Arabian dancing horses....it's Friday and that means another installment of the Week in Weird 2.0.
New, improved, and twice the sarcasm. Week In Weird 2.0
Another week gone by and another installment of the Week in Weird brought to you by Hockey Moms Worldwide or www.hmww.org Friday is for photos so here a couple to help you ease back into the bjnotbk experience. 1. This one was taken at my mom's house. This is a really old and really cool door. At first glance it looks like it is made out of metal but on further inspection you can see it is really wood. 2. This picture was sent to me by Uncle Jesse. Our class recently finished our study on 1 John and so we ended the study in the Epicenter. If you like great photography make sure to visit Steve Mckoy's Friday photos here [ link ] and Joe Thorn's here [ link ]. Want to see your photo published here? Submit all family friendly photos to bjnotbk@gmail.com for consideration. Please note that I reserve the right to publish or not publish any submission. 3. What are you reading these days? I just finished The Reformed Pastor, by Baxter, Desiring God, by Piper, and am getting ready...
This week's week in weird is brought to you by Covergirl [ link ]. If you were a lipstick what color would you be and why? Me? Mine is a mix up of coffee toffee and french toast [ link ]. Friday is for photos and I have quite a few of them for you so bare with me. This past Sunday we had a great time as we attended my mom's family reunion at her newly restored home. 1. This log home dates back to the late 1700's and was brought to TN from West Virginia. The grayed portion is the original part of the home. This is now a working, living home. 2. The back of the yard was the latest addition as my mom just finished the stone porch/deck. I don't think the picture really does it justice. 3. My mom is a huge flower person. At her last home she built her own greenhouse where she cultivated many of the native and rare wildflowers found only in the Smoky Mountains. The tall vine plants that you see in this picture are morning glories and cover what use to be a telephone pole(about...
Today is the day after Thursday and the day before Saturday which means it must be Friday...unless you are in China which means it is Saturday?
School is back in session, college football begins this weekend, the leaves are turning, and fall is in the air. I love this time of year. Friday is for photos. 1. This one was taken quite some time ago. Recently I was contacted by schmap.com stating that my picture had been shortlisted for publication. I found out that my picture was selected and has been published! I will try and update this post with the link when I get a chance. Pretty cool stuff. 2. Big, big news. M and I found out last Friday that we are expecting baby #3!!!! We are at 5 weeks. So far so good. 3. The land that time forgot - with another baby on the way that means that our small SUV is no longer adequate as it only holds the 4 of us. This past week has been a quest for M to find a vehicle that she both likes and that will work for our expanding family. Have you ever noticed that there is no such thing as a "short trip' to the car dealer? If you go, plan on spending at least 1.2 years of your life as there...
Another week gone by and another week away from the Steeple Community. Where has all the time gone? I wake up, I go to work, I go 100 miles an hour and the next thing I know I am going to bed. It's Friday and that means photos, and lot's of them. Last Saturday our Bible Fellowship class went to the 1982 World's Fair Park to play. Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure/displeasure. 1. Another week gone by...another series of photos, personal snippets, and short bursts of espresso filled sarcasm coming your way.

By the numbers - 55 - that's the number of consecutive pushups i just did. I am working my way through the 100 push-up challenge [ link ]. Give it a try, it's free. 36 - that's the number of lbs I have lost since March. For most of my life I have tried to lose weight by changing diet, exercising, etc. with limited...
This week can be summed up with two words.....blur. Thank goodness it's Friday. and that means....payday, go out tonight, wash my trans-am, and head out to Tex-Arkana for a load of cold, Illegal, Coors....O wait, that's Smoky and the Bandit...nevermind. You know that Friday is for photos. 1. My wife took this one of little man playing in the pool. 2. This one is of the two angels. Hard to believe it but they did sit still for more than 1.6 secs so I could snap the pic. 3. Our Bible Fellowship class went hiking last Saturday to Midnight Hole. What a great time. Boy was the water cold! If you like great photography make sure to visit Steve Mckoy's Friday photos here [ link ] and Joe Thorn's here [ link ]. Want to see your photo published here? M and I are possibly, maybe, going to...
Thank goodness it's Friday. and that means....payday, go out tonight, put on my white linen jacket, neon skin tight undershirt, white shoes, jump in my Ferrari with Tubbs, and party like it's 1999. Sure, Monday will come and I won't have any money and everyone knows that living paycheck to paycheck isn't a "plan" but hey....you can't take it with you right? Just kidding. You know that Friday is for photos. 1. What a great week so far! It really began for me and my family last Friday, 4th of July. Our offices were closed so we took off to visit the Aquarium. We spent all day looking at the fish and the divers which are L's absolute favorites. I think her day was made when one of the divers waived at her. 2. Someone in my family has a cabin on the river so I made arrangements for us to stay Friday through the following Wednesday...wow! A whole 6 days off. Unfortunately our little boy wasn't feeling well so we didn't get to stay at all. Here is a...
Thank goodness it's Friday. and that means....food stamps, government checks, 5lb blocks of cheese, and long lines at the banks just kidding. You know that Friday is for photos. 1. Last Friday we had a baby sitter so the wife and I headed downtime for some dinner. After dinner we walked across the Gay Street bridge. I have always wanted to get a picture of the JFG coffee sign (if you look at the end of the bridge you can barely see it) so we walked over to it. The evening was incredible. The food was good, the weather was outstanding, and I was with my girl. What more could a man ask for? A friend of mine brought in his new iTouch and now I am envious. I already...
Is it really June 20th? No way? Yes way? Ok. The Week in Weird is sponsored and supported by the following corporations and organizations: People for the ethical treatment of pipe cleaners or PETPC Hair Back Nation Illegal Immigrants for Illegals My local gas station who undercharged me 12 cents this week 1. Friday is for photos and you are getting lots of photos. The weather this week has been amazing. Last night I think it was around 72 with a slight breeze so as usual we all headed outside after supper. I was a little upset as I found a scurvy dog playing on our play set trying to take me ship...arrrr. Come to find out this was no scurvy dog but a very cerebral young man wrestling with the deep thoughts of this world. Paper or plastic? 2. Behind our house we have a walking trail which is uber cool. We have found snakes, crickets, turtles, lightning bugs, June bugs, cats, and an assortment of plant life. Not to mention tons of blackberry bushes. 3. Finally - There are several areas in...
Good morning and welcome to an early edition of the week in weird brought to you by the letter E. Last week was hectic and Friday was possibly the worst work day of my life...enough of that though. 1. Friday is for photos and you are getting lots of photos. Here are some shots of the bjnotbk/Napalm annual camping trip. Funny how at the beginning of our trips everyone is all smiles? Unfortunately one of our guys didn't make it. The trail was on the AT and had a very nice shelter for us to stay in. When I say the shelter was nice I mean it. It even had a Starbucks in it. These guys are everywhere! We stayed at Spence field which use to be used by early settlers as a place to graze cattle. Unfortunately the park has decided to let the field grow up and return "naturally" stupid park rangers. 2. If you like great photography make sure to visit Steve Mckoy's Friday photos here [ link ] and Joe Thorn's here [ link ]. Want to see your photo published here? Submit all family...
We have recently gone through some tough layoffs here at bjnotbk, I have had to move the servers from our hillside bunker to the basement of my mom's house. With an economic crunch such as this you have to cut costs. Last week I had to sit before a congressional panel and walk through bjnotbk's 2008 1 quarter profits and outline a detailed plan of how I would invest some of the obscene profits back into other, less read, less popular blogs. Now that all of that is over on to some updates. 1. Friday is for photos and you are getting lots of photos. Our family has it's own tag line "bjnotbk...ridding the world of ugly one beautiful kid at a time" 2. L is turning out to be quite the painter. My agent has been in negotiations with Sootheby's about potentially auctioning off some of L's lesser known works of art. Here are some recent works as displayed at the bjnotbk museum for the advancement of arts located on our third floor. These are my favorites... 3. If...
