Theological Tapout - a Prose poem for you

Last night I attended open mike poetry night at the local coffee shop and dropped this jewel onto the crowd.  And now I present to you.

theological tapout

My fast is faster than your slow

my quick is quicker than your no show

my Hobbs can beat your Calvin

my pre- beats your post

my fun beats your fundamentalism

my free beats your law

my relationship beats your religion

His grace covers all...

His gospel is greater news than your systematic theology so tapout.

it is funny you mention that as my acceptance letter stated that they knew I was coming and that I was predestined to earn my degree?  Just kidding.

Awesome poem! What's with the Hobbs and Calvin (I'm culturally deprived; yeh, I know it's a cartoon, but....the point)? Certainly systematic theology falls short of the gospel, but it is a serious attempt at understanding the unfathomable. It is, in my opinion a worthwhile endeavor.  It is a framework for discussing the real thing. Getting hung up on it is the problem.

Calvin and Hobbs?  Doesn't really mean much...just me messing with the latest craze to hit Christianity....reformed theology.  Just joshing around really.
